The Los Angeles Lakers have proven to be a little bit better than most people anticipated. Today they travel to Chicago to take on a Bulls team with some solid veteran presence. Here's your NBA Pick.

Los Angeles Lakers

Los Angeles comes into this game averaging 108.2 points per game but giving up just over 110 per contest. Head coach Luke Walton has done a nice job with this team getting them to push tempo, share the ball, and take efficient shots. Los Angeles ranks eighth in both shooting efficiency and effective field-goal percentage as well as seventh shooting 36.6% from beyond the arc. Across the board they rank in the top 10 in most offensive categories but it has been there defense that has been worrisome. Currently the Lakers rank dead last in the league in opponent effective field-goal percentage and shooting efficiency, as well as allowing opponents to shoot 48.4% which also ranks them last. Almost two weeks ago they faced this same Chicago team losing by eight points in Los Angeles and with them coming off a back to back this contest doesn't look any easier. However, they are a team playing with confidence, and although I don't think they win this game, I do think they at least make it interesting.

 Chicago Bulls

Chicago is averaging 105.3 points per game while allowing just 99 so far this season. They have a similar makeup to Los Angeles in that they do like the push some tempo but they have been better on the defensive end than most pundits anticipated, yours truly included. Offensively they get up and down the floor with just about anyone in the league but they don't shoot the three particularly well averaging just 7.2 three-pointers made per game as well as shooting just 34.2% from distance. I've been impressed with them on the defensive side of the ball as they rank second in the league in opponent shooting efficiency, as well as allowing opponents to shoot just 47.1% on their two-point shots which ranks them fourth. All that being said though this is a Chicago team that plays at the same pace that Los Angeles is comfortable as they average 88.4 attempts per game which ranks fifth in the league. This will suit the Lakers just fine and although this is a tough spot with them coming off a back to back, and Chicago is the better team, this should not be any type of blowout.

NBA Odds

Oddsmakers have made the Chicago Bulls a -10 favorite across the board. For my NBA pick I'm going to back the Lakers plus the double digits and look for them to keep this game somewhat interesting. Although Chicago wins the Lakers keep this within single digits.
