Last week we gave you all an introduction to an exciting new world of fantasy sports and now DraftKings is ready to show you why they're the best in the business.
This coming Wednesday DraftKings will be hosting an SBR Forum NBA contest where they will be handing out $500 in total prizes. For a $10 buy-in, you'll have an excellent shot at making profit, especially since only 57 entries will be accepted.
If you missed our intro to DraftKings, here's the skinny: you start with a $50,000 bankroll and have to select a PG, SG, SF, PF, C, G, F and UTIL while staying under budget. The scoring system is easy to grasp and rewards for extra statistics like made 3-point shots and even double-doubles and triple-doubles.
What we really like about DK, as opposed to competing sites, is they offer much more flexibility with roster selections. For one, players aren't locked into one position, which therefore gives you more room to operate and get your team to where you want it to be. You're not forced into keeping someone like James Harden in at shooting guard – he's also eligible at small forward.
Plus, each player on your roster can be switched in and out right up until tipoff for their respective game. Your full team doesn't lock when the first games of the day begin, so you don't have to worry about getting screwed by a last-minute injury.
Be sure to use the Free NBA Picks on offer at SBR to help you decide which team and player has the advantage that night.
Prices for players are updated each day based on past performance, but that doesn't mean value isn't out there.
That, my friends, is one of the keys to success with these daily games. Finding the bargains and using that extra money to beef up in other areas could ultimately make the difference between finishing in the money and finding yourself on the outside looking in.
That said, perhaps the most important aspect to these daily contests is taking advantage of certain individual matchups. For example, the Charlotte Bobcats have been getting torched inside all season – they have a PER Differential Ranking of 30 at both the PF and C positions – so you may want to look at Indiana's bigs for your frontcourt selections this Wednesday. David West (yes, even with one eye) and Roy Hibbert could both post extremely favorable stats for your team.
Using similar reasoning, Damian Lillard (PG) and Wesley Matthews (SG/SF) could be worthwhile picks against a New Orleans team that's had considerable trouble defending out on the perimeter this season.
Locating those players that contribute in multiple categories, especially when it comes to steals and blocks, is also going to serve you well. Josh Smith is capable of monster lines and should have a good game against Orlando on Wednesday, while Joakim Noah (@ BOS), Paul George (vs. CHA), DeMarcus Cousins (@ DAL) and Greg Monroe (vs. WAS) are intriguing options too.

Sign-ups are still being accepted for tomorrow's $500 SBR Forum NBA contest, so don't waste any more time.
If you're not satisfied with just one contest and want to get in on even more fantasy goodness, Wednesday is the perfect day to do it. DraftKings holds a $10K Big Wednesday High Roller event every week and also has other attractive formats to take part in. You can earn a spot in the big event by taking part in tonight's qualifier ($12 entry fee), with the top five finishers getting a ticket.
So what are you waiting for? Get over to DraftKings now and enter the SBR Forum contest. We promise you'll enjoy the whole process.
