There's a lot of information to sift through we can use to take advantage of all that DraftKings has to offer, so let's see what's been happening lately in the association.
Go Big or Go Home

We have to start off by saying you're missing out in a big way if you're not trying your dardnest to get into the DraftKings $150K NBA Bank Shot Tournament. Did we mention $50k to the winner.

Qualifiers for the March 27th event are still running every day, with just under a month until the huge tournament tips off.

Strategy Talk

Daily fantasy games are not as easy as you may think. It's not simply about buying the best of the best (think LeBron, Durant, Harden, etc.) and then rounding out your roster with uncertainties. You've really got to nail your selections at every position, maximizing the value to the best of your ability.

There's a lot of things to consider.

For one, you need to be careful about players on bad teams. PG Kemba Walker, of the Charlotte Bobcats, is a terrific talent who can rack up statistics in a lot of different categories, but the Bobcats are so terrible that you never know if he's going to get the necessary minutes to get the job done.

Likewise with a guy like Nikola Vucevic. Vucevic has burst on to the scene in his sophomore season as a double-double machine, but the Orlando Magic are a miserable 16-42 SU on the year. Take Wednesday night for example: the Magic were just blown out by the Sacramento Kings and Vucevic only logged 22 minutes. He finished with just four points, two rebounds and two assists, while turning the ball over twice, and his stinker killed a lot of DraftKings fantasy lineups.

Of course, you wouldn't have expected such a dominant Kings win, but all we're saying is there's an inherent risk in selecting highly effective players on poorly performing teams.

Trade Deadline Discussion

Despite being one of the more unremarkable trade deadlines in recent years, there were some moves worth mentioning.

The two biggest deals involved scoring guards who can make a difference on your DraftKings lineup with their ability to light up the scoreboard, especially from the 3-point line.

J.J. Redick was moved from the Magic to the Milwaukee Bucks and will assume his same role as instant offense off the bench. The return for Orlando wasn't too shabby: they got some needed depth in the form of Tobias Harris, Beno Udrih and Doron Lamb.

Then there's Jordan Crawford, who was traded from the Washington Wizards to the Boston Celtics in exchange for the injured LeAndro Barbosa as well as Jason Collins. Crawford hasn't been playing a lot of minutes for his new team thus far, but it's definitely a situation worth monitoring.

It'll also be interesting to see what kind of impact a change of scenery will have for Thomas Robinson. He was stolen away by the Houston Rockets (along with Francisco Garcia and Tyler Honeycutt), with Patrick Patterson, Toney Douglas and Cole Aldrich going the other way.

Other Notes

If you want to be successful in the daily fantasy basketball arena, you have to be continuously checking injury reports.

This is even more true when we get into the late stages of the regular season. Teams that are already a lock to reach the postseason are likely to be extra cautious when it comes to resting key guys to avoid further injury. Gregg Popovich is a coach that's going to do whatever he thinks is best for his team, and fantasy addicts hate him for it.

Late scratches can be a killer. Make sure you're completely up-to-date with what's going on all over the NBA.  Of course, DraftKings is the only daily fantasy site that allows late-swaps so if you’re up to date with player news this is the site for you.

Injuries leave the door open for a lot of low-priced players to be productive for your team. Kyrie Irving has been struggling with a hyper-extended knee, meaning backup point guard Shaun Livingston has become a great value play while the Cleveland star sits. There's a few other similar situations out there at the moment – it's up to you to locate them!
