Trying something new here at sportsbookreview.com, looking into prop bets on this day to see if we can find extra ways to cash in and make more money against the sportsbooks.
Unless you have the bankroll to do this against the NBA odds, we would recommend being cautious, because this is a volatile marketplace with swing variances and you want to make sure you can do this and have fun first and enhance your enjoyment of making NBA picks. Let's see what we have!
Nuggets vs. Wizards - John Wall Over/Under 18.5 points
John Wall is off a couple off shooting nights, going 9 for 28 for Washington and 1 for 6 from beyond the arc. Tonight he should be able to score with far greater ease at home against Denver defense that is 23rd in points allowed at 104 per contest and 24th in field goal percentage defense at 46.3%. With Wall an excellent penetrator, he should have several drives pay off, with the Nuggets also 23rd in the league in field goal defense for two point attempts. Betting the OVER on Wall means playing a little extra juice against the NBA odds at Bovada, but I think it's worth it as he is averaging 19.8 points a game over his last 10 contests.
Prop Pick: Wall Over 18.5
Hawks vs. Pacers - Indiana Over/Under 50 First Half
If you dismiss Indiana's 110 points scored at Golden State, they have scored 94.3 PPG in their other three most recent contests. Today they face Atlanta, who has been playing exceptional defense lately, holding opposing teams to just 92 PPG in their past seven contests and under 40 accuracy. With the Pacers offense bogged down and facing down and dirty Hawks defense, do not really see them reaching 50 points by halftime tonight. This is further supported by Indiana being 17-6 UNDER the first half total after one or more Under's and 14-4 UNDER the first half total after playing a game as a home underdog the last three seasons.
Prop Pick: Indiana Under 50
Bucks vs. Grizzlies - Khris Middleton Over/Under 21.5 points
After being a terrible looking team for the most the season, Milwaukee has improved, winning five of last eight to move record to still unpleasant 20-27 record. Part of the reason for playing better is more plays or guard Khris Middleton. On the season the former Texas A&M star is averaging 17.9 PPG and has scored 20 or more points in seven straight, and averaged 22.8 PPG over his last 10 tilts. With the Bucks offense now flowing through Middleton and center Greg Monroe, there has been more continuity, compared to the up and nature of the early season. This also not the same Memphis defensive team of years past, now a pedestrian 17th in field goal percentage at 45%.
Prop Pick: Middleton Over 21.5
Kings vs. Pelicans - First Teams to 20 points
With New Orleans' Anthony Davis listed as 'doubtful' yet again, this is a great opportunity for Sacramento to build an early lead on the road. With DeMarcus Cousins on a tear this month, leading the league with 34.4 points per game, the Kings would be wise to feed the big man early and often, especially with Davis unlikely to play. With Eric Gordon remaining sidelined with a broken finger, this cuts into the Pelicans scoring options from its starting five, even at home. Sacramento is improved this season, off consecutive defeats and 3-1 SU in visits to the Big Easy and wins this prop play.
Prop Pick: Sacramento scores 20 first
Knicks vs. Raptors - Largest Lead Over/Under 18.5 points (-115)
The Toronto Raptors are running roughshod over the NBA on a nine-game winning streak, winning by 12.7 PPG and posting 8-1 ATS mark. Though New York trails by 10 games in the loss column in the standings, they have been a pesky opponent for Toronto, with 4-5 SU record and six covers. Let's also keep in mind the Knicks 9-15 road record is hardly a thing of beauty, but they are 14-10 ATS away from Madison Square Garden, losing by only 4.1 PPG. Can definitely see the Raptors continuing their winning streak, however, building such a huge lead against a competitive road club seems like stretch. This is even more true if Carmelo Anthony can shake ailing knee woes, since he has averaged 30.6 points in his last seven matchups with Toronto.
Prop Pick: Play Under 18.5
