It’s another big Monday in the NBA, and I have narrowed down all of the games into my two best bets tonight. The NBA Odds are hot coming off of a big weekend, so let’s continue to cash NBA winners.

Washington Wizards vs. Chicago Bulls

Chicago has been known for their defense forever it seems, however with recent trades and injuries, tonight their defense doesn’t look so imposing. The NBA Odds have the Bulls as -3 favorites, with a total of 181 ½. Even though the spread looks good, I think a sneaky play on the total might be the way to go tonight.

With Luol Deng gone, the Bulls’ glue on defense is suddenly over in Cleveland. Deng was way more valuable to the Bulls than most give him credit for (just ask Joakim Noah who didn’t speak for about three days after the Deng trade) and I think it will start to show. Not only are they without Deng, but Jimmy Butler is also dealing with an injury, and if he misses, that would put the Bulls down two of their best three defenders.

The Wizards do have their own road scoring struggles, however the Bulls will have little to no answer tonight against a team that has the ability to be good on offense when right. This lower total of 181 ½ gives us some room to work with here, and I really like the over because of it. Chicago can score against the Wizards’ road defense giving up nearly 100 points per game, and with the Bulls winners of five straight games SU, it could be a higher scoring affair than what the sportsbooks are portraying with these NBA Odds.

NBA Pick: OVER 181 ½

Orlando Magic vs. Dallas Mavs

The Magic come into this game really banged up, and although definite statuses won’t be known until later this morning or even this evening, it has not had an affect on the NBA Odds too much. Right now the Mavs are a -12 favorite at home, with a total of 198.

Orlando will be without Nikola Vucevic once again, and the lack of his presence will only help the Mavs’ scoring, as he is by far Orlando’s best defender. Aaron Afflalo missed Saturday’s game as well and there has been no new word on his or Jameer Nelson’s status. Nelson started Saturday, but had to leave the game with a sprained finger. He is also day-to-day.

Even though laying the points is tempting, I see the total as a safer choice. At 198, this total is also undervalued, and ripe for an over bet. If it is indeed a blowout, that could be a better scenario for an over too.. When the scrubs are in, normally scores tend to go up as well, and if the Mavs start hot and get out to a big lead, it could help us even more.

The last six times these two teams have faced one another, the total has gone over, and I look for this trend to continue. If their two guards miss tonight’s game, Orlando’s only chance is to push the pace and try to win the battle on the glass. Either way the final point spread goes, I think this game can get into the 200s for our NBA picks depending on how well the Mavs play on offense at home.

NBA Pick: OVER 198
