It’s back to another week of working the betting odds and college basketball season is slipping away. At least there will be a significant pay out in entertainment terms with the NCAA Tournament approaching.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Miami Heat  7:35 ET  CSN-P, SUN
One of two things is in play for those putting together NBA picks for this contest. Either Goran Dragic will have a bigger impact on the Miami’s offense than anticipated by the sportsbooks or they think Philadelphia will stay hot behind the arc after making 13 trey’s at Orlando yesterday. Whatever the case, the total has shot up like Michael Keaton’s career from 189 to 193. The makeup of both teams has changed with trades and Chris Bosh’s ailment, which would not seem like a good reason to back an OVER play. I’m not going to overlook the Sixers are 19-9 UNDER on the road and 20-11 UNDER when the total is between 190 and 199.5 points this season.

NBA Pick – Play Under

Brooklyn Nets vs. Denver Nuggets 9:05 ET  YES, ALT
Denver return to the Mike High City and hosts Brooklyn and they have lost six in a row at the Pepsi Center (1-5 ATS), which is hardly refreshing new for their fans. What NBA basketball handicappers and those devising sports picks can agree on is the Nuggets are play against material at 2-15 (5-10-2 ATS) since Jan. 16th and have flipped from -1.5 to +2.5 on the NBA betting odds, seemingly just going through the motions. The Nets being in the weaker Eastern Conference are 23-31, yet own the last playoff position at the moment and seek consecutive road wins for the first time in 33 days. The addition of Thaddeus Young has to be viewed as a positive for Kevin Garnett and Denver is 0-7 ATS in home games off a road loss by 10 points or more this season.

Louisville vs. Georgia Tech 7:00 ET  ESPN
Louisville is hard to watch when they have the ball on offense this season, ranking 218th in Effective Field shooting metric. There win over Miami- FL on Saturday was perfect example, trailing most of the game in shooting 33.9 percent, yet made enough plays on defense and shots converted to escape 55-53 as nine-point home favorites. Georgia Tech is 3-12 in the ACC (8-6 ATS) and is 3-9 SU in games determined by five points or less. Mostly, the Yellow Jackets have below average guard play and the frontcourt players do not handle to pill well and are third-worst in the conference in turnovers. This had helped push the Cardinals from -4 to -6 and they are 15-6 ATS on the road after a home triumph. The opening line looked spot on to me and this adjustment is a cause for pause.

NCAA Basketball Pick – Slight lean Georgia Tech

Kansas vs. Kansas State 9:00 ET ESPN
Kansas State cannot catch their breath in the Big 12 and is 1-7 and 3-5 ATS since knocking off Oklahoma State at home. This has not stopped hoops bettors from lowering the Wildcats from +6.5 to +5 in their battle with rival Kansas. Maybe they are thinking K-State will have a different mindset after scoring a meager 42 points at Baylor Saturday and the fact is the Jayhawks last three defeats have been on the Big 12 road. However, Kansas knows how to win in Manhattan and is 14-3 and 13-4 ATS there the past 17 years and there is little reason to believe that will change tonight.
