The Wolves are coming off a couple of bad losses to the Warriors and the Suns, and they continue their road trip on Monday against the Jazz. Utah is going to be without their best player for the better part of a month because of a bone bruise, and that could lead to a strong game from Minnesota.

Wolves at Jazz

Without Rudy Gobert for the next 4-6 weeks, the Jazz are going to struggle to guard teams like the Wolves. Even though Minnesota is still figuring out their new parts on offense, without Gobert protecting the middle the Wolves’ wings are going to be attacking the paint without regard.

Derrick Favors is a fine fill in at center for Gobert, but his defense leaves a lot to be desired. I think Gobert’s absence is worth at least two points or more in this spread, and with the line sitting at -3½ in favor of the Wolves, I could see Minnesota coming out and beating up the Jazz tonight.

Tom Thibodeau teams usually don’t lose three games in a row, and with the Wolves coming in losers of two straight, I see Thibs having his guys ready to play. This Wolves team is too talented to struggle long term. After winning five in a row before their recent losing streak, I see them bouncing back.

Utah has not been great on defense lately either, and that is not going to get any better without Gobert. The Jazz have allowed 108 points per game over their last five, and I could see them giving up 110-plus tonight if the Wolves come to play.
