The New Orleans Pelicans have fallen off a cliff lately on defense, and tonight they host the Thunder. New Orleans’ defense has actually been worse at home, and the Pels' pace of play makes this one very interesting as they go up against a team that is virtually the exact opposite of them.

Thunder at Pelicans

So far this season the Pelicans are playing at a pace of nearly 103 possessions per game when they are at home, but that has really hurt their defense as well. The Pels are allowing 109.1 points per 100 possessions when they play in New Orleans, and with an offense like the Thunder coming to town they are going to give up some points in this one. The Pelicans have allowed an average of more than 120 points per game over their last five contests.

However, with the Thunder struggling as road favorites lately, the total is once again where I’m going with my money. The Thunder have cashed the over in three of their last four games and considering their last three meetings in 2016-17 against the Pelicans went 'over' the total, I’m going with that tonight in hopes that the Pelicans still can’t find their defense.
