The Spurs have now lost two straight games to poorer Eastern Conference teams, and even though Sunday’s loss was to a buzzer-beater, they come into Monday's game in Boston as dangerous as ever, even without Kawhi Leonard.

Both of these teams are without their best wing player, and with the Spurs coming of losing twice to inferior Eastern Conference teams this one should be entertaining.

On one hand, you have the Spurs who could be overachieving without Kawhi Leonard, or at least playing better than expected. It’s hard to tell when you have a coach like Gregg Popovich, but they probably should have won on Sunday if it weren’t for a last-second shot to win it for the Pacers.

The Celtics, on the other hand, are rolling, even without Gordon Hayward. They have won four straight games ATS and SU, and their defense has been their best attribute. The C’s are holding opponents to 97.3 points per 100 possessions this season, and the Spurs aren’t far behind in that category either with a 100.5 defensive rating.

With that in mind, sharps have hammered this total over the last 24 hours. After opening at 199 points, it’s plummeted all the way to 193, making betting the total a risky proposition. However, with the Cs rested and the Spurs coming off a tough loss Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis, I see a couple of other lines we can take advantage of.

With San Antonio tired, the first quarter line of -1½ in favor of Boston is where I am going. The Spurs have traditionally been a good team on no rest, but on the road against the Boston defense is going to give them issues early in the game. Without Leonard, the Spurs don’t have a lot of options to get easy baskets, and I think that will play early enough in this one to get the C’s at least a two-point lead at the end of one.
