The Heat are pretty banged up right now and if that is the case tonight, they may have no choice but to play fast. They are playing one of the faster teams in the NBA and after a game last night, they may give up some first half points in this one.
Miami played Detroit on New Year’s Day without their three best players. They hung in the game in the first half by playing extremely fast and catching the Pistons off guard. Miami put up 66 points in the first half of that one before getting slowed down and putting up only 32 points in the second half.
However, if the Heat are without Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside again on Tuesday, they might be forced to play fast in the first half once again.
Enter the Suns, who just played last night and will be looking to turn things around after a loss to a banged up Clippers team. Phoenix allowed LA to score 64 points in the first half of that one, which is pretty embarrassing considering LA was missing both Chris Paul and Blake Griffin.
With the potential for Miami to play fast and the Suns giving up points to basically anyone, the first half over is a steal of a value at 104 right now. The Suns are allowing 57.2 points per first half in their last five games, so look for Miami to take advantage of that and play up to Phoenix’s speed if they are missing some of their starters again.
