Pacers-Nets: Something at Stake
Indiana recently lost six games in a row, but beat Dallas Sunday 104-99. The Pacers shot 50 percent from the floor and hit 10 of 17 shots from 3-point range, picking up the cover as two-point home favorites.

Last Thursday Indiana lost at Milwaukee 111-107; just before that the Pacers snapped that six-game losing streak with a 103-101 victory at Washington.

Brooklyn, meanwhile, has won three in a row and seven of its last nine after beating the Lakers Sunday 107-99. The Nets only led by three with about four minutes to go, then pulled away just enough to push the spread as eight-point favorites.

Brooklyn shot 48 percent from the floor Sunday and committed just eight turnovers.

Last Friday the Nets beat Cleveland 106-98, and just before that they won at Charlotte 91-88.

So big-picture, Brooklyn, at 32-40, is basically tied with Boston for the eight-nine spots in the Eastern Conference playoff race, while Indiana, at 32-41, sits in 10th place, just a half-game back of the Nets and Celtics.

Indiana had beaten Brooklyn five times in a row, including the first meeting between the teams this season back in December 110-85. But the Nets took the most recent meeting, 123-111 ten days ago in Indianapolis.

Indiana took that first meeting this season by shooting 51 percent from the floor and holding Brooklyn to just 36 percent shooting, winning that game outright as a three-point underdog. But the Nets took the second meeting by shooting a blazing 61 percent from the field, winning that game outright as eight-point dogs.

That first meeting sneaked OVER its total of 191, and the second meeting cruised OVER a total of 195.

Pacers-Nets, Statistically Speaking

Also, while Indiana ranks seventh in rebounding at +2 per game, Brooklyn ranks 26th at -2.3 per game.

Totals Betting Trends
NBA odds underdog Indiana has played five OVERS in a row, as the Pacers have hit the 100-point mark five games in a row, and given up at least 100 points in four of those five games.

Brooklyn has played three UNDERS in its last four games.

Injury Update
Brooklyn F Thaddeus Young has missed the last two games with a knee injury, and is questionable for tonight. And Deron Williams is dealing with an illness, and is also uncertain to play.

On the other side of the scorers' table Indiana is still playing without Paul George, and G Rodney Stuckey is iffy with a bad wrist.

Pacers-Nets Free Pick
Keep in mind when forming your NBA Picks that Brooklyn is the hotter team at the moment, playing at home, offered at a very manageable spread. And we have serious doubts as to whether Indiana can shoot 10-for-17 from 3-point range again, like it did the other night. So despite the possible injury absences we still like the Nets for tonight.
