There are four more NBA playoff games set to tip off today, and after releasing my series prop picks from the Saturday games, I'm back on Sunday to release my series prop NBA Picks.
Celtics vs. Cavs
The Celtics have to be one of the feistiest, and well-coached teams in the playoffs. If Brad Stevens was the coach of the Cavs instead of David Blatt, who knows how far the Cavs could go. However, Stevens coaches the Celtics, and in this series, while it would take more than one miracle to win it, the Celtics are going to give Cleveland some trouble. The Celtics bench is still pretty good, while the Cavs bench is not, and that alone could keep them in a couple games. On top of that, when the series shifts to Boston, the Celtics could get a game if they play a perfect game. Their defense is going to have to show up for that to happen, but with nothing to lose and with a good crowd behind them, I see Boston winning one game in this series, but the Cavs should take care of business.
NBA Playoffs Series Props Pick: Cavs in 5 (+125 at Bovada)
Nets vs. Hawks
The Nets are lucky they made it into the playoffs, because who knows which direction this franchise would have headed if they didn’t. They still have a ton of money on the books, and while their playoff trip may be short lived, it is good that they got their for their own sake this offseason. However now that they are here, I think the Hawks are going to wax them. Atlanta won all four regular season matchups somewhat easily, and with the depth and defense that the Hawks should bring to this series, there is little doubt in my mind that Atlanta could sweep Brooklyn. The NBA Odds for them to do so are at +250, a great combination of risk and possibility.
NBA Playoffs Series Props Pick: Hawks in 4 (+250)
Blazers vs. Grizzlies
I was really tempted to place this NBA pick on the Grizzlies in five games in this one until I saw all of the injury concerns for the Grizzlies, however if Tony Allen, Mike Conley and Jeff Green are at the very least close to 100%, Memphis is going to win this series rather easily. They matchup well against the Blazers, and Portland does not matchup well against Memphis. The Grizzlies’ strengths on defense are exactly the Blazers’ strengths on offense, and with those two meeting head on; I’ll take the home team’s defense any day. Memphis was very successful in the regular season against the Blazers, and as long as they are healthy, I see that carrying over to a series win here.
NBA Playoffs Series Props Pick: Grizzlies in 6 (+400)
Spurs vs. Clippers
It’s kind of sad that we have to say goodbye to one of these clubs in the first round, because it could really alter the course of NBA history, as we know it. These clubs are two of the five or six best teams in the entire NBA, and even though they have home court advantage in the series, I see the Clippers losing to the Spurs once again. San Antonio has just as good of an offense, their defense is better, and they are a deeper team. They can create some bad matchups for the Clippers, and with the best wing player in the NBA outside of Kevin Durant and Lebron James on their side in Kawhi Leonard, it’s going to be a win for the Spurs. However it should go seven games, and be one of the best playoff series we have seen in a while.
NBA Playoffs Series Props Pick: Spurs in 7 (+450)
