Nice warm-up to Super Bowl LIII on Saturday in the ABC primetime NBA game as the Lakers visit the Warriors. LeBron James' return should make this one of the most-wagered hoops matchups of the year.

In addition, you have the Super Bowl angle as many bettors will want to start building their bankroll the night before. More than a few of SBR’s top-rated sportsbooks are offering cross-sport props on the Super Bowl and this game.

For example, at BetOnline you can wager the number of Steph Curry made three-pointers (-120) against home many receptions the Rams’ Brandin Cooks has (-120) against his former Patriots team. Curry is second in the NBA to James Harden in total three-pointers made and averages around 5.2 per game, which is first (Harden just takes a ton more). Curry has made just four, though, in two games vs. the Lakers this season. Cooks had 80 catches during the regular season, or 5.0 per game, and has 11 in the two playoff games. He was with the Patriots last season and had one reception in the Super Bowl loss to the Eagles.

Golden State was stunned at home by the Lakers on Christmas, 127-101, despite LeBron leaving in the third quarter with that groin injury. The Warriors had won 11 straight in Oakland vs. L.A. The Dubs routed the Lakers 130-111 in L.A. on Jan. 21 in a game that wasn’t that close. Klay Thompson made his first 10 three-pointers, tying two NBA records in the process. He finished with 44 points. Without going to the free-throw line a single time, Thompson joined just five players in league history to score at least 44 points without one free-throw attempt. Thompson was the first to do it on the road. Who keeps track of this stuff!?

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

🎥 LeBron James dropped a team-high 24 points, 14 boards, and 9 assists in his first game back on the floor #LakersWin pic.twitter.com/uXMVCFeR59
— Los Angeles Lakers (@Lakers) February 1, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

NBA Bet On Lakers Or Warriors ATS?

Want more proof that LeBron does what he wants and is the coach of any team he is on? On Wednesday, the Lakers said James wouldn’t return Thursday night vs. the Clippers. Yet, there LeBron was as I’m sure it was always his call.

James said he was about 80 percent Thursday – he likes to be dramatic -- but played 40 minutes and had 24 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists in a 123-120 overtime victory over the Clips. Hey, it got tiring previewing Lakers games and not knowing if James was going to play. And it makes Saturday’s matchup all the more intriguing. Kyle Kuzma returned after missing two games with a hip injury but didn’t look quite right in 23 minutes with 10 points. Rajon Rondo was great with 14 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists but turned his ankle on the game’s final play so he might have to sit this one out. Potentially bigger loss than normal with Lonzo Ball sidelined.

Golden State’s NBA-best 11-game winning streak came to a halt on Thursday in a 113-104 home loss to Philadelphia in what was a highly-entertaining game. The Dubs couldn’t stop Joel Embiid down low as he had 26 points and 20 rebounds. Steph Curry had 41 points and 10 made three-pointers, but the rest of the team was 1-for-20 from deep. The Dubs were without Thompson due to illness, but he’ll be in there Saturday. Kevin Durant is now the only Warriors starter to have played every game this season.

Lakers are 5-14-1 ATS in their last 20 games following ATS win.

Warriors are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following ATS loss.

Worst thing for the Lakers was for Golden State to lose on Thursday – now the Warriors will play pissed. LeBron not quite 100 percent, Kuzma clearly not and perhaps no Rondo. Drop an NBA bet on Golden State ATS.
