Two of the hottest teams in the NBA meet tonight to cap off a full slate of games, as the Phoenix Suns (2-1) host the Los Angeles Lakers (3-0) at Footprint Center for a 10 p.m. ET tipoff on NBA TV.

JJ Redick has the Lakers off to a strong start in his first year as a head coach, with Anthony Davis leading the charge and LeBron James proving ageless at nearly 40 years old. Those stars factor into our Lakers vs. Suns player prop bets selections below.

Los Angeles isn't quite yet a contender by the NBA championship odds like the two teams we looked at with our Bucks vs. Celtics player prop bets, but they couldn't be happier about their start to the season.

Kevin Durant has also been on a tear for the Suns, and the elite scorer could be thrust into a bigger role if Bradley Beal (elbow) misses another game, as the Suns looking to build their offensive chemistry under new coach Mike Budenholzer.

The first priority for Redick as head coach appears to be to feature Davis as the primary scorer and initiator in the Lakers' offense. So far, it’s paid massive dividends, with Davis averaging 34 points per game on a 29.6% usage rate.

Davis finished with 35 points while leading a 22-point comeback against the Suns on Friday, and he dropped 31 points the next night against the Sacramento Kings.

He's earned 15 free throw attempts per game, including a season-high 17 against the Suns, forcing Jusuf Nurkic to post a minus-19 over 18 minutes. The Suns have few answers for Davis down low.

Austin Reaves prop bet: Over 9.5 rebounds + assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Lakers are the preferred side to target with player props tonight because their roles seem to be clearly defined under Redick.

Reaves has played 35.3 minutes per game and is averaging 6.7 rebounds and six assists with defenses focusing on Davis and James

The guard is enjoying career-best splits of 55.3% from the field and 43.8% from 3-point range through three games, and he's an underrated defender who should see plenty of time guarding Devin Booker and the Suns' top guards.

The Suns have the second-lowest offensive rebounding rate and are allowing the eighth-most assists per game (27.3) so far under Budenholzer.

Kevin Durant prop bet: Over 2.5 3-pointers made ⭐⭐⭐

The odds are long on this prop because Durant has attempted only three 3-pointers in two of his first three outings this season.

However, he’s averaging 5.8 3-point attempts and making 2.8 per game over his last five against the Lakers, a team that is generally stronger on the interior and vulnerable to pull-up shots from the perimeter.

Durant has hit at least two 3-pointers in three straight against the Lakers and is shooting 50% from downtown through three games this season. He averaged 28 points per game and shot 42.6% from 3-point range last season, and his usage rate spiked to 31.4% while averaging 29.2 points per game in 26 outings without Bradley Beal (elbow, questionable) last year.
