Los Angeles Lakers (3) vs. Miami Heat (2)
Sunday, October 11, 2020 – 7:30 PM EST ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Orlando, Fl
Lakers opened as a 5-point favorite on the NBA odds with a total of 214.5.
Lakers Can’t Afford To Take This Game 6 Lightly
After the loss in Game 5, the Los Angeles Lakers will have another chance at fulfilling their season-long dreams of becoming the NBA champs. You could argue that the Lakers may have gotten a little ahead of themselves and played like they had already won.
LeBron James definitely did his part as he scored 40 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and shared the ball well with 7 assists. Anthony Davis also added 28 points and 12 rebounds as he led the team with 42 minutes played. Davis re-injured a previous foot injury and coach Frank Vogel is hopeful that he will be close to 100% for this huge Game 6 contest. "I'll be fine on Sunday" Davis said.
Los Angeles won the first two games of this best-of-seven series in addition to taking Game 4, but the Lakers still haven't lost back-to-back games this postseason.
Does Jimmy Buckets Have Enough Left In The Tank?
Jimmy Butler put the entire team on his back once again as he went for 35 points, while adding 12 rebounds and 11 assists in his second triple-double in the last three games. With 47 minutes played, it took every ounce of Butler to avoid elimination in Game 5 and it will be interesting to see if Miami’s main catalyst has enough left in the tank. "I left it all out on the floor along with my guys and that's how we're gonna have to play from here on out. I think it's going to be even harder for us next game.” -Jimmy Butler said after the big win on Friday.
With coach Eric Spoelstra shortening his rotation to just 7 players, the role players for Miami will need to have another great game if they want to force a Game 7. Duncan Robinson finally made his presence known as he went off for 26 points and made seven 3-pointers in Miami’s 111-108 Game 5 win. Tyler Herro, Jae Crowder, Bam Adebayo, along with Robinson, will all need to rise to the occasion and give Jimmy Butler some help if they would like to keep their championship hopes alive.
The NBA Pick
Expect Los Angeles to come out in this first quarter with a vengeance as they look to cap this season off in style. I see this as a spot where the Lakers come out hot and never look back! For today’s NBA prediction, I’m riding with the Lakers First Quarter -1.5 to come out strong in this closeout game. Best of luck everyone, make sure to always check for late injuries and shop for the best NBA betting lines when making your bets.
