Three-time NBA Champion LeBron James will be the starting point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers next season.

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the Lakers will make James their starting point guard and let's be honest, he's always been an incredible passer, he averaged 8.3 assists in 35.2 minutes over 55 games last season and he averages 7.2 assists per game in his career so the move makes perfect sense.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

This pass from @KingJames is just filthy... 🔥 pic.twitter.com/Z7XQ0QNFII
— NBA on TNT (@NBAonTNT) October 5, 2018
"}[/]

After missing out on Kawhi Leonard, the Lakers have made a number of moves to surround LeBron James and Anthony Davis with talent and in addition to the announcement of James running the offense next season, the team plans to sign Avery Bradley to a two-year, $9.7 million deal once he clears waivers.

Lakers Roster & Starting Lineup With LeBron James At Point Guard

*Notates expected starter

C: DeMarcus Cousins*, JaVale McGee
PF: Anthony Davis*, Talen Horton-Tucker
SF: Kyle Kuzma*, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jared Dudley
SG: Danny Green*, Troy Daniels, Avery Bradley
PG: LeBron James*, Rajon Rondo, Quinn Cook, Alex Caruso

Moving James to point guard could allow the Lakers to include Kyle Kuzma in the starting lineup. Kuzma traditionally plays power forward but he has spent time at small forward in the past.

Signing JaVale McGee gives the Lakers a big man that played at a high level for them last season, averaging 12.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 22.3 minutes over 75 games (62 starts).

Having McGee and Cousins allows Davis to be their power forward, the position in which he feels more comfortable and where he can take advantage of his athleticism.

With Troy Daniels, Danny Green and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, the Lakers address some of the shooting and defensive depth concerns that surrounded them last season while Jared Dudley provides depth, toughness and veteran leadership.

Signing DeMarcus Cousins is clearly a risky bet for them but taking a chance on hum being a dominant interior force again like he was before all his injuries is worth it because he agreed to a veteran's minimum deal.

The Lakers still had a remaining need on the roster at point guard and they addressed it by adding Quinn Cook, Rajon Rondo and Alex Caruso on cheap, team-friendly deals and they will back up James at the position.

Avery Bradley averaged 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 30.2 minutes over 63 games with the Clippers and Grizzlies last season and he's a solid three-point shooter and an excellent defender.

Bradley fits well with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, he's good defensive-minded guard and he shot 38.4 percent from beyond the arc on 5.2 attempts in his 14 games with the Grizzlies last year. He also averaged 16.1 points, 4.0 assists and 1.0 steals for them.

Los Angeles Lakers 2019-20 Regular Season Wins
(Courtesy of BetOnline)

Over 51.5 Wins -120

Under 51.5 Wins +100

Who wins the Lakers vs. Clippers season series?

Series tie +100

Los Angeles Clippers +150

Los Angeles Lakers +225

Will the Lakers play the Clippers on Christmas Day?

Yes -400

No +250
