There's still profit to be made with NBA picks on this matchup knowing that both the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings have both thrown in the towel as each team is 2-8 in their last 10 games.

Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. tonight at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. According to NBA odds, the Kings are a 4.5 point betting favorite and the total for the game is listed at 209. Neither of these teams are defensive forces. The Kings have allowed 116 points to the Thunder and 122 points the pitiful Denver Nuggets in their last 2 games. The Lakers have allowed 98 points or more in their last 8 games.

Who Will Sit Out the Remainder Of the Season?
In a situation like this, we never assume that everyone is playing because the season is basically over for both teams and players don't want to get hurt or basically don't want to play, knowing that their season is done. In this case, I'm glad that we did as DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay will be out for the Kings and Wesley Johnson is out for the Lakers. Those are the notable names and without Boogie Cousins and Gay, this game has a completely different outlook. This is anyone's game.

Jordan Clarkson
45 picks were passed by in the 2014 NBA Draft before the Wizards took Clarkson. Luckily for the Lakers, a team on the decline, they got this gem. Clarkson has been a stud in the last couple of months of the season and this kid has a bright future. In his last 10 games, Clarkson is averaging 19 points, 6.6 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game.

Clarkson has scored 20 points or more in 3 out of his last 4 games and is coming off of a huge 26 point, 6 assists game in a loss to Dallas in which he was 3 for 6 from beyond the arc. Look for Clarkson to make an impression on Lakers management and without a full Kings squad suiting up, Clarkson should have another 20 point effort.

Tarik Black
Although Black hasn't made a name for himself like Clarkson, he's had the opportunity to come on late in the season and has done a fantastic job. He's coming off back to back double-doubles. In his last game, he had a career high 19 boards. In his last 10 games, Black is averaging 10.6 points and 7.6 rebounds. He's made the most of his opportunity and is the type of player to "clean up the mess", so to speak. If the Kings come out and play uninspired basketball tonight like I think that they will, Black will be there to pick up the pieces in favor of L.A. Keep that in mind when placing your NBA picks.

Opportunity
There's one thing that I have noticed. When DeMarcus Cousins doesn't play, it gives the rest of the team more opportunity to showcase their skills; especially Ben McLemore.

McLemore was a highly touted player coming out of Kansas. While McLemore hasn't played up to expectations, I think it's because he needs to be one of the two top options on his squad.

McLemore has had back to back 20 point efforts against OKC and Denver and is averaging 14.1 points per game in his last 10 games when given the minutes. McLemore along with Omri Casspi will be major factors in this game. Casspi too, has been playing very well as of late and I'm sure other teams are watching his play closely as he could end up somewhere else.

This game has the possibility of going either way, but the Lakers are getting the 4.5 points and I love the way that Clarkson runs the club. Take the points.
