The Lakers are coming off a game last night, which was their first win in nine games. Now they are playing the defending champs on no rest after the Cavs have had a ton of rest over the last week. The first half spread is ripe for your NBA Picks.

L.A. Lakers vs Cleveland Cavaliers

The Lakers snapped an eight-game losing streak against the Sixers last night, but now they have a date with the defending champions, whose three best players have had a full three days off. In fact, Kyrie Irving hasn’t played in a week because he was rested on both games against the Grizzlies.

Now enter the Lakers, who just played last night and had to travel after the game. It might not be a bloodbath, but the Cavs knew what they were doing here. After tonight they don’t play again until Tuesday, so with the Lakers tired and the Cavs playing on insane amounts of rest, laying the points is the play.

The Cavs will want to parlay this nice quarter-season rest tonight and I see them jumping on Los Angeles early in the game. While the NBA Odds of -16 are pretty high, the first half spread is sitting at a cool -9 ½ right now. If the Lakers don’t come out with maximum intensity, they are going to get blown out pretty quickly.

On the road this season the Lakers are allowing more than 110 points per game and an average of 58.2 points in the first half. If the average they are giving up is 58, the Cavs might drop 70 on them in the first half tonight.
