With the Detroit Pistons' frontcourt banged up, the New York Knicks should be in position for a big win. Let's dive in with our Knicks-Pistons picks.

The Knicks aren’t exactly lighting the world on fire with two straight losses entering Tuesday. But they'll get a chance to pull within one game of .500 with a win over the lowly Pistons.

Detroit has been something of an against-the-spread machine lately, but it's still only registered five wins. The team is getting a ton of love from sportsbooks with this line.

Here are our Knicks-Pistons NBA picks for Tuesday (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, and PointsBet; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Knicks vs. Pistons Odds

Knicks vs. Pistons Odds Analysis

The Knicks opened as 3.5-point favorites in Detroit, and the sportsbooks needed to quickly move the number. New York is now as high as a 5-point favorite, with some books like DraftKings and BetMGM still hanging 4.5 points. If you like the other side, you can pay -107 to get the 5 points with the Pistons.

The Knicks are commanding a whopping 71% of the spread bets through DraftKings, but just 59% of the handle. The bets on the total have been split evenly. However, the Over is getting 57% of the handle.

The best place to follow the money is FanDuel, where you can get 226 points. PointsBet is featuring the top deal on the under at -107 on 226.5.

Knicks vs. Pistons ATS Pick

Knicks -4.5 (-115) ★★★★★

The Knicks are just 1-4 straight up and against the spread over their last five games, but that shouldn't impact how Tuesday’s game goes. The Pistons appear to have gotten a head start on tanking for the upcoming NBA Draft, winning just five games over their first 22 contests.

The Pistons have managed to cover in six of the last seven matchups, which is somewhat intimidating to bettors here. But nine of those successful covers took place when the Pistons were getting over 10 points from oddsmakers. They're 1-4 ATS in their last five as underdogs of fewer than 10 points.

The Knicks really should run laps around Detroit. They’re 15th in offensive efficiency and playing a team ranked second-worst on defense and 25th offensively. Additionally, Detroit may be without big man Marvin Bagley III, which could really throw a wrench into things.

New York’s greatest strength has been its ability to rebound, defend, and score in the frontcourt. Detroit is without its starting center in Isaiah Stewart and is now dealing with a banged-up Bagley. That spells trouble.

Knicks vs. Pistons O/U Pick

Over 226 (-110) ★★★★

The Over has cashed during the Knicks' last three games. Despite the Pistons’ offensive incompetence and their inability to score down low, the Over is appealing again.

There really should be no limit to what this Knicks offense can do on Tuesday. Yes, Immanuel Quickley may miss this game, but New York boasts a seemingly unlimited supply of firepower at guard. The Pistons also rank 17th in pace, which seems to be the only area you can find them even around the league's average.

The Knicks have been transforming themselves in 2022-23. They’re in the top 10 in pace after ranking second-slowest last season. That trend of uptempo basketball will continue, and New York should score plenty of points against a team that's terrible at stopping the fast break. The Pistons aren't good offensively, and they’re playing pretty poor defense.

Knicks vs. Pistons Prop Pick

Jalen Brunson Over 3.5 rebounds (-125) ★★★★

The Pistons were already 23rd in rebounding before dealing with their injuries. Additionally, they’re allowing opposing point guards to grab 6.2 rebounds per game, which ranks ninth-worst in the league.

Enter Brunson, who has grabbed five rebounds in each of the last two games. He's also gone over this number in four of his last six contests. He's going to log some big minutes, particularly if the spread is a sharp one and this game is close. If he’s on the floor, Brunson will get boards.
