The Milwaukee Bucks are desperately trying to find their way into the playoffs as they travel to take on Sacramento today. Odds makers have made Milwaukee a small road favorite in this spot but is there any value in backing Sacramento to pull the minor upset?

Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee is on the second leg of a back to back after playing in Portland last night so this could be a tough spot for them to come in and win against a Sacramento team that is still pretty scrappy. On the season Milwaukee has been very efficient from the floor offensively shooting 47.6% overall which ranks second in the league, as well as ranking sixth and seventh and effective field-goal percentage and shooting efficiency respectively. However, on the other side of the ball they been less than stellar ranking 24th in the league in both opponent effective field-goal percentage and opponent shooting efficiency, along with allowing opponents to shoot 45.9% from the floor which ranks 18th in the league. Most of their defensive statistics remain among the worst in the NBA and I’ve a hard time believing on the second leg of a back to back that they will come in and handle business against a Sacramento team that has continued to at least play hard since the All-Star break.

Sacramento Kings

Since the All-Star break Sacramento has been a woeful 3-10 as the rebuilding has already begun by trading away All-Star DeMarcus Cousins. However, they catch Milwaukee in a tough spot and at home since the break they have shown signs of playing some decent basketball. They’re coming off of two straight losses against two the better teams in the Western Conference in Oklahoma City in San Antonio, but prior to that they won two in a row beating Orlando in Phoenix. I like how they matchup with Milwaukee actually and although their defensive statistics are nothing to shout about, offensively they rank 13th in the league in effective field-goal percentage and shooting efficiency, as well as shooting 37.3% from distance which ranks fifth. It makes sense with their poor record for them to be underdog in this spot but don’t be surprised if they pull off the minor upset considering the situation. This is not so much a play on Sacramento as it is fading Milwaukee in this spot.

NBA Odds

Odds makers have come out making Milwaukee a -3.5 favorite but for my NBA pick, I will take Sacramento plus the points. I believe the Kings actually have a legitimate shot to win this game despite their poor record. Expect a maximum effort from them tonight.

Free NBA Pick: Sacramento +3.5

Best Line Offered: at Pinnacle

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3067755, "sportsbooksIds":[238,1096,93,123,1275], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1 }[/]
