There seems to be inflated NBA odds in a matchup of two teams that have been playing lower scoring games as of late when the Sacramento Kings visit the Indiana Pacers Wednesday.

NBA Pick: Under 214
Best Line Offered: at Pinnacle

The total seems very inflated considering the recent forms of the two combatants Wednesday night in a non-conference affair as the Sacramento Kings (11-17, 13-15 ATS) continue an Eastern road trip when they pay a visit to the Indiana Pacers (16-11, 15-12 ATS) at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN at 7:05 ET in a game available on FOX Sports - Midwest.

The posted total at Pinnacle Sports is 214 for this contest with the current odds on the ‘under’ set at -102.

Both Teams Come off Road Losses
The Pacers failed to make the NBA Playoffs last season but they appear to be in good shape to return to the post-season this year, as they are currently in second place in the Central Division, three games behind LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, they are returning home here after being the losing NBA Picks in both games of a mini road trip, albeit vs. good competition losing 96-84 at Memphis and 106-92 at San Antonio.

The Kings have seemingly always been a team with nice potential that never fulfills it, and such may be the case again with Sacramento sitting six games under .500, although believe it or not that record actually has them two games out of the eighth seed in the Western Conference and a potential playoff spot. The Kings have lost two of their first three games of this east trip, failing to build on a 104-96 upset win in Toronto by losing 113-99 at Washington Monday.

5-0 ‘under’ Run
The Kings are actually third in the NBA in points scored with 104.4 per game and 28th in points against at 107.1, resulting in a high average combined total score in all of their games of 211.5 points. That combined total is still a bit below this very high posted total however, and recent Sacramento games have been even lower scoring.

You see, the Kings’ scoring average has dropped to 100.8 points over their last five games, but the defense has also played better over this same span allowing an average of exactly 100.0 points on just 43.2 percent shooting with the ‘under’ going a perfect 5-0! It has not helped the offense that the Sacramento superstar DeMarcus Cousins maybe be having the worst month of his career during December, shooting 37.9 percent from the floor this calendar month.

Good Indiana Defense all Year
The Pacers return home following those two low scoring losses out west and, like Sacramento, Indiana is also now on a 5-0 ‘under’ run with those five contests averaging a combined 192.2 points, nearly 22 points less than this posted total and more than nine points below the league game average of 201.4! We get that the Kings usually play at a faster pace than the teams that the Pacers usually face, but as mentioned the Sacramento offense is not clicking right now either.

Besides, in the last two head-to-head meetings between these clubs, neither team reached 100 points during regulation time with the Kings winning both games, 99-94 here in Indiana and 102-101 in overtime back home in Sacramento in a game that was 96-96 after regulation.

Furthermore, unlike the improvement of the Sacramento defense in recent games, the Indiana defense has been very good this entire season ranking seventh in the NBA in points against at 98.8 per game while limiting opponents to 44.0 percent shooting.

Trending the ‘under’ Even More
Finally, besides the aforementioned recent 5-0 ‘under’ streaks of these two teams, the ‘under’ is also 10-4 in the Kings’ last 14 games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game, as well as 9-2 in the Pacers’ last 11 games following a straight up loss by more than 10 points.

We see no reason to buck all of that ‘under’ success here, especially with this seemingly enormous posted total, so go ‘under’ again when Sacramento visits Indiana on Wednesday.
