Kings vs. Lakers Odds Analysis
The Kings opened as 3.5-point road favorites, which made sense given their four-game win streak. Influential money must have backed the Lakers, though, as this line has been dropped down to 2 or 2.5 across the board.
As for the total, this line started at 245.5 before climbing up to a range between 146.5 and 147.5. Over bettors should grab the 146.5 at BetMGM or PointsBet, while Caesars is the place to go for the Under with its mark of 247.5. For comparison, the total for the Jan. 7 meeting finished Over the closing line of 243 by 27 points.
Kings vs. Lakers Pick
Kings -2 vs. Lakers (-110 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐
The Kings lost by two points in their last meeting with the Lakers, but we like them to avenge that performance on the road. Sacramento is actually doing well away from home, posting a 10-9 clip in the win-loss column. The Kings are 12-7 against the spread on the road, including a 5-1 clip as the betting favorite.
The Lakers, meanwhile, have been a tough team to back from a betting perspective. They are 20-23-1 against the spread overall, which includes a 14-18-1 clip underdogs. They have covered in back-to-back outings, but that trend should end Wednesday.
Sacramento leads the league in scoring with an average of 120 points per game, while Los Angeles ranks 27th in defensive scoring by giving up an average of 118.1 points per contest. This will be the Lakers’ third game in four nights, and I doubt they are going to be very locked in on the defensive end.
The market pushed this spread down from 3.5, which allows us to buy back on the line at an opportune time. I believe the Kings will take care of business on the road to extend their win streak, but I’m respecting the early market by only making this a three-star pick.
