Boston Celtics take on the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night, in what is being tipped a tight game on the NBA odds board. Here’s how we line up our choice NBA picks.

Celtics (39-26 SU, 32-32-1 ATS) vs Kings (32-31 SU, 37-25-1 ATS)

While Boston is firmly in the playoff race, fifth in the Eastern Conference behind a healthy 39-26 SU record and a modest 32-32-1 ATS record with a 5.7 winning margin on average, the intensity seems to have waned in recent weeks. Sporting a mere 4-6 SU record in their last ten games form is a tough concerning. That stat looks a lot worse when one considers they’ve lost five of their last six games.

That said, the Celtics did bounce back into the win column with a noteworthy 128-95 victory over the defending champions on the road. It marked their second win in their last three games and second road win in their last five away games.

The question here is whether the past few days are a sign of the Celtics turning things around and getting back on track as a legitimate contender for the title. That’s difficult to say for certain but, put it this way, time is fast running out with just 18 games left on the table.

The Sacramento Kings will be looking to make it back-to-back wins when they host the Boston Celtics tonight, and if the NBA odds were any indication they are within a shot. The game couldn’t be more delicately poised on the NBA odds board than it currently is with the Kings set to anywhere from point to +3 against the spread depending on your choice top-rated sportsbook.

In fact, their record against the spread is something to take serious stock of here for your NBA picks. The Kings are the second best team in NBA betting when it comes to covering the spread at 37-25-1.

Only one other team has proved more profitable for spread bettors up to this point, and that is Milwaukee. The Kings couldn’t be in better company on that stat sheet had they penned it themselves. Although they’d probably prefer to enjoy the same fortunes in the win-loss column as the league-leading Bucks.

In any event, form is just as much of a concern in Sacramento as it is in Boston. The Kings are a mere 4-6 SU in their last ten games and just 1-2 SU in their last three home games with losses to Milwaukee and the Los Angeles Clippers. Where they strike an attractive pose once again is against the spread where they are a positive 6-4-0 ATS in their last ten games.

NBA Betting Verdict: As it is, neither team is on great form since the All Star break putting this game on an even footing rather fittingly. The NBA odds are appropriately set given the circumstances. That said, where there does seem to be value is on the hosts. Sacramento as the underdog looms tempting because of their overall success against the spread this season, coupled with home advantage where they are a healthy 20-13 SU on the season and a league-leading 22-10-1 ATS at home with a 0.8 winning margin on average. As home underdogs, they are a gratifying 14-7-1 ATS with a -2.7 margin on average. Put all these stats together against the fact that Boston are merely 12-18-1 ATS on the road and a lowly 6-13-1 ATS as road favourites this season with a 3.2 winning margin on average. And the Kings do appear to be the better choice NBA pick. Don’t you think?
