The Golden State Warriors announced that Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins continue to make good progress with their rehabilitation but are not expected to be ready for Game 1 of the NBA Finals on May 30.

Durant has been out with a strained calf since Game 5 of the second round series against the Rockets and the Warriors have won six straight games since he went down, including a four-game sweep of the Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals.

KD's calf strain was feared to be an Achilles injury but no major news outlets confirmed that theory.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently talked to ESPN's Nick Friedell about Durant's potential return date:

"There's a big range of how long it could be depending on how he responds and how bad the strain is. This one is taking a little bit longer than the ones he’s had in the past, but that's OK. He's coming along well and if he continues to improve at the rate he's improving now, we're confident that he'll be back. We just don't know when."

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Kevin Durant & DeMarcus Cousins injury update: pic.twitter.com/nMyQG0yKDl
— Warriors PR (@WarriorsPR) May 23, 2019
\n"}[/]

DeMarcus Cousins tore his left quad in Game 2 of the first round series against the Clippers on April 15 and initially he was expected to miss the remainder of the playoffs. Durant and Cousins will be evaluated next Wednesday and there's a decent chance they could come back this season, especially KD.

Where Will Kevin Durant Play Game 1 of the 2019-20 NBA Season?
(Courtesy of Bovada)

Knicks -125

Warriors +175

Clippers +500

Nets +600

Lakers +650

Mavericks +2200

Odds to Win the NBA Championship
(Courtesy of BetOnline)

Warriors -240

Bucks +275

Raptors +1200

Series Price for Potential Warriors vs. Bucks NBA Finals

Warriors -240

Bucks +200

Series Price for Potential Warriors vs. Raptors NBA Finals

Warriors -375

Raptors +315
