Marquee matchup around the NBA on Friday is clearly Houston at Denver with the ESPN cameras beaming it nationwide. Bet confidently with tips from SBRpicks.com.

Both are interested – but, then again, every team in the NBA is interested in Davis. The Nuggets actually have the talent the Pels would want to get things done but might not want to ruin what they have. As an NBA fan, I’d like to see it because as things stand it’s pretty clear no team in the West can beat the rampaging Warriors in a series.

It’s the third of four regular-season meetings between these teams and Houston’s last visit to Denver. The Rockets have won both by double digits – 109-99 in Denver on Nov. 13 – and have won nine straight overall in the series. That’s Houston’s second-longest winning streak in the history of this series (11), and the Rockets’ four-game winning streak in Denver is their second-longest (six).

Clint Capela, currently out injured, is averaging 27.5 points on 72.7 percent shooting in the two games, James Harden 27.0 points and 12.5 assists, and fellow MVP candidate Nikola Jokic of Denver 19.0 points, 12.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

🏀 37PTS
💪 11REB
❗️ 24 straight 30pts+ games for The Beard! pic.twitter.com/0hYQ8sbSEW
— Houston Rockets (@HoustonRockets) January 30, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

Bet Rockets Or Nuggets ATS?

This starts a four-game road trip for the Rockets, and they play again Saturday in Utah so there’s a realistic chance that Houston will sit Chris Paul one of the two. Mike D'Antoni said Thursday Paul will indeed play Friday but is uncertain for Saturday. Paul's minutes will be managed very cautiously the rest of the season.

Houston had a three-game winning streak surprisingly snapped Tuesday night, falling 121-116 at home to the short-handed Pelicans as 13.5-point favorites. Anthony Davis, Julius Randle, Nikola Mirotic, Elfrid Payton and E’Twaun Moore were all out. About the lone bright spot for the Rockets was Harden with 37 points. He has now scored at least 35 in 11 straight games, the fifth-longest streak ever. Kobe Bryant last did it in the 2002-03 season and Wilt Chamberlain did it three times. Harden averaged 43.6 points in January, the seventh-most in a calendar month in NBA history.

Denver’s 35-15 record is the best 50-game start in franchise history; the team had started 34-16 in both 2008-09 and 2009-10. The Nuggets visited New Orleans on Wednesday catching three breaks: the Pels were on the second of a back-to-back, down five key players, and it was their first home game amidst all the Davis drama. Denver won 105-99 behind a 20-point, 13-rebound, 10-assist triple-double from Jokic. It was his eighth trip-dub of the season.

Jamal Murray missed his third straight game with a sprained left ankle and is questionable for this one. Malik Beasley has thrived with more minutes in Murray’s place and had 22 points vs. the Pelicans.

Rockets are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

Nuggets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

Unless they play the Warriors or are missing key guys injured, I wouldn’t recommend betting against the Nuggets at home this season as they are 18-8 ATS there. Make it 19-8 on a Friday NBA bet as Houston is just 8-15 ATS on road.
