New York's players have a lot to prove down the stretch, but can they stay within the double-digit spread tonight against a Charlotte team clinging to slim postseason hopes?

The New York Knicks are playing the role of spoilers against Eastern Conference playoff hopefuls. The Knicks defeated Washington 101-97 on Sunday in a jarring upset that will have implications on where the Wizards will be seeded in the postseason. That game can be largely considered "Trey Burke’s Revenge" game because the former Wizards guard started for the Knicks and scored 19 points. Burke played for the Wizards last season and was the backup point guard for most of the season until he fell out of favor with coaches and found himself on the bench, not playing at all.

Burke has found a bit of a new home in New York. He has been able to win over the locker room and coaching staff, proving to them that he still has a lot left in the tank for his career.

In tonight’s game in Charlotte, Burke will be matched up with All-Star Kemba Walker, who is playing out of this world as of late. Walker scored 48 points in the Hornets' 61-point win over Memphis last week.

The Hornets have struggled to find an identity all season, but their ability to finally stay healthy has helped them win their last three games and keep their playoff hopes alive.

Walker is responsible for setting up his teammates -- especially Dwight Howard, who has to be spoon-fed the ball to score. But Walker also attacks and scores himself. He leads the Hornets with 22.9 points per game, shooting 46 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range.

At home this season the Hornets have struggled to cover the point spread on the NBA odds board; they are 18-19 ATS on their home court. With your NBA picks, look for New York to keep some momentum and stay close enough to Charlotte to cover the number.
