One of the better series so far in the NBA playoffs has been Indiana and Toronto. Can Indiana hang with the defensive minded Toronto or will this game get out of hand? Check the NBA pick inside.

NBA odds boards have made Indiana a +7 underdog like at Bet Online -110. For one of my NBA picks I will back the Pacers in this spot as I look for this game to go down to the wire. Indiana made some nice changes in game four and I am not sure how well Toronto will adjust for game five.

Indiana Pacers
In game four Indiana shot 47% from the field and over 37% from distance although they got out rebounded 56-49 by Toronto. Tempo and shot attempts have been key factors in this series so far for both teams.

Except for game one the team that has got up the most attempts has won pretty handedly so it will be interesting to see if the Pacers can implement the pace they want on the road.

Their focus was really efficient on both ends of the floor as they settled for higher percentage shots only getting up 16 shots from distance which was well below their 23 per game average during the season.

They also stepped things up defensively in that game four forcing 17 turnovers which turned into 25 points and only giving up 12 on their own end. The Pacers also defended well from distance with a combination of poor shooting by the Raptors as Toronto went just 8-30 from beyond the arc.

For Indiana to hang in on the road they are going to have to keep up the tempo tonight, and although that is easier said than done I like for them to push things as much as possible and look for similar results as game four.

Toronto Raptors
The Raptors shot just 36.5% from the floor in game four and only 26.7% from distance but got to the line 30 times. Although I am backing the Pacers in game five it is evident that Toronto simply did not play well in game four from their overall shooting to their turnovers.

Most likely, they will shoot the ball much better in game five since they are at home but I think they should be a bit concerned about the adjustments the Pacers made after their own poor game three performance.

The Raptors have been a defense first team for most of the season and have got to where they are by controlling tempo and limiting assists and second chances ranking in the top ten in opponent assists and third in opponent rebounds per game.

In this last game they failed miserably in both areas with Indiana swinging the ball for 24 assists and grabbing 15 offensive boards. It seems to me that both of these teams have played their cards and I don’t anticipate Toronto to have much of an answer to what Indiana implemented in game four.

They can play better however which can definitely lead to a home win, but the number is just a bit too high in my opinion. The Raptors should win, but this will be a tight game from start to finish.
