Only two games line the NBA schedule tonight, and with such a short card, we have to look elsewhere for NBA odds value, so we venture into the profitable markets of parlay picks.
Clippers vs. Heat
The Clippers played last night in Orlando and then jumped on the short flight to Miami t play the Heat this evening. The NBA Odds have the Clippers as -3 favorites after their closer than expected win over the Magic last night, with a total of 198 ½ points These NBA Odds were late coming out this morning for a variety of reasons, but the main one is that there are some injuries that are keeping doubt in my mind on this one.
Dwyane Wade and Luol Deng and both listed as questionable, with some reports calling them doubtful for tonight’s game against the Clippers. If both of them sit out, it would give a lit more value to the Clippers here, even on the back to back. It’s early enough in the season where the back to back doesn’t come into play as much, and if both of the Heat’s best wing players misses this game, I am all over the Clippers laying points on the road. The Heat are only 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games on Thursdays, and that was with Lebron James. They are also only 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games as an underdog dating back to last season’s playoffs. I see the Clippers coming away with the cover for the first leg of our parlay.
Bulls vs. Kings
Speaking of injuries and questionable tags, the Bulls ladies and gentlemen. If you follow football, you’ll get the reference that Tom Thibodeau and the Bulls are the Bill Belichick and the Patriots of the NBA. Last game for Chicago both Pau Gasol and Derrick Rose were listed as probable, however both ended up missing the game. Tonight it’s the same story, so who knows if either of these guys will see the court.
My guess is no, but that’s just because as a fan of the Bulls, I have learned to be pessimistic about injuries and injury status reports from that team. There is also the status of Rudy Gay for the Kings, who played in the Kings most recent game, but didn’t look great doing it, and now he is questionable with an Achilles injury. In the end however, despite the mystery on whether or not these guys will play or not, I think we should lay off the spread because of all of this mess.
Instead, I think the total might be a better wager to cap off our NBA picks for this parlay. No matter if these guys play, both teams’ defenses have looked good at times this season, and with a lot of offensive firepower potentially missing from the lineup, it might not be a bad idea to bet the under. The under is 8-1 in the Bulls’ last nine games playing on two days rest, and it’s 9-4 in their last 13 games playing on the road against a team with a winning home record. The under is also 8-2 in the Bulls’ last ten games as a road dog
