Both the Heat & Nets continue to disappoint, but one of these teams will at least end up on the winning side tonight. It's time to break down the NBA odds and come up with our top play of the night.

Odds Overview
Expect there to be changes to the NBA odds in this game throughout the day, considering there's sure to be a lot of health updates with regards to the Heat. There are a lot of game-time decisions as of now, which makes it very tricky for us handicappers. Keep checking back with SBR odds in order to maximize the value you get with your selections.

As it stands right now, the Heat are favored by three points at home, while the O/U is quoted at 198.5 points.

Miami Heat
The Heat will be looking to make amends tonight after a poor showing in a 100-90 home loss to the Celtics on Monday. Miami was the clear-cut favorite at home, but couldn't make enough plays down the stretch in the defeat.

Of course, it didn't help that Goran Dragic was out and that Hassan Whiteside got thrown out early after a stupid flagrant foul. Whiteside was subsequently suspended for tonight's game, meaning an already shorthanded Miami squad will be even thinner this evening. Dragic is expected to return, but Dwyane Wade is a game-time decision after missing shootaround this morning due to an illness. We'll have to wait until right before tipoff most likely to find out if he's going to be able to play.

Backing the Heat lately has been a nightmare, and it may be wise to stay away until the rotation is back to full strength and we can get a more reliable read. However, tonight may be an exception, as it's not like the Nets have been playing well at all either, thus making it a wash pretty much.

Brooklyn Nets
Losers of four in a row, the Nets are not doing themselves any favors in the Eastern Conference race right now. It's been a mess, as all four of those defeats came at home no less. Those poor fans.

Last night was the worst of the bunch, as Brooklyn got off to a fast start against New Orleans before totally collapsing and losing by 20. The Nets were completely shut down and couldn't even stay close with a Pelicans squad that was missing Tyreke Evans. Brooklyn shot 41.7 percent from the field overall in the miserable defeat.

It's a shame to see the Nets struggle like this, as they do have some very talented players. They just can't put it all together and compete on a consistent basis. It's rather sad that they haven't even been good enough to reach the top eight in the horrible East. We'll have to see if Brooklyn can bounce back with a better performance tonight, but we're not exactly holding our collective breath.

NBA Pick
We were on the wrong side with our Heat pick the other night, but we're going right back to the well and will be selecting them as one of our NBA picks again tonight. Why? Well, the Nets have been a total mess here of late and have done even less to instill confidence than the Heat.

Having Dragic back will be a big boost for Miami, but the big question revolves around Wade's status. If he's a go, we like the Heat a lot more and would feel much more confident taking them. Keep checking on the injury news throughout the day so that you're fully informed!

It should be a hard-fought game throughout, but in the end we look for the home team to win by at least three points, particularly if Wade's a go. Not having Whiteside will hurt, but Miami should still be able to emerge victorious.
