There is a very short schedule of games in the NBA tonight with only 6 teams going head to head. Let's go over the NBA betting odds for the Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors match-up.

Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors

The Warriors host the Rockets on Thursday at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California with the opening tip scheduled for 10:35 PM ET. According to NBA betting odds Golden State is a 1.0 point home favorite and the early posted total is 214.0. Houston has won 7 of the last 9-games between these teams since the beginning of the 2011-2012 campaign. These teams have seen 6 of those 9-games go under the total. They’ve met twice this season with the Rockets winning and covering both times.

Last Night

Both of these teams played last night. The Rockets trounced the Lakers at the Staples Center in Los Angeles by a score of 134-108, and easily covered the spread as a 9.0 point road favorite. The Warriors were a 101-92 winner versus the Kings at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, and covered the number as a 5.0 point road favorite.

Red-Hot Rockets

The Houston Rockets picked up right where they left off before the all star break by winning their 8th consecutive game last night. They’ve also covered in 6 of those 8 contests. Despite last night’s high scoring game versus the Lakers that produced 242-points, and easily went over the total of 215.5, the Rockets have gone under the total in 7 of their last 10-games. The Rockets have scored 106-points or more in 6 of their last 7-games. Houston enters tonight with a very respectable 15-10 road record on the season. The Rockets are currently 2nd in the Southwest Division with a record of 37-17, and they trail 1st place San Antonio by just 2.5 games.

Can get Better

The Golden State Warriors entered this season with very high expectations. Although they’ve been anything but a disappointment, this is a club which is capable of improving in the 2nd half of the season. The Warriors enter tonight with a record of 32-22 while finding themselves 3rd in the Pacific Division, 4.0 games behind the 1st place Los Angeles Clippers, and just a 1/2 game behind the 2nd place Phoenix Suns. If we’re to see that improvement that’s expected, the Warriors must continue their solid road play (16-12), and need to be much better at home (16-10). The Warriors get a lot of ink for their up tempo offensive style of play led by their dynamic backcourt of Stephen Curry (24.4 ppg) and Klay Thompson (18.3 ppg). However, their improved defensive play has flown under the radar. The Warriors have now allowed 92-points or less in 8 of their last 10-games. They enter tonight 4th in the NBA holding opponents to 43.6% shooting from the field this season.

NBA Betting System

Let's consider some statistics before making our NBA picks. Any road team that’s facing an opponent that’s playing with same season revenge stemming from a loss in which they allowed 110-points or more, and that opponent is playing on back-to-back days, has gone 96-48 ATS (66.7%) over the last 18 seasons.
