The NBA is back and immediately those devising sports picks are hot on one of the televised tilts. In addition, we have three betting odds in college basketball which have been altered and one in the NHL.
San Antonio Spurs vs. L.A. Clippers 10:35 ET TNT
With no Blake Griffin for an indefinite period, the Clippers will require other scoring and rebounding resources. Those putting together NBA picks do not believe Doc Rivers’ crew will find solutions against San Antonio and they the Spurs have been elevated from -1 to -3 at the Staples Center. San Antonio begins the second portion of their –Rodeo Road Trip – having won 11 of 14 (6-7-1 ATS) and are as healthy as they have all season. Los Angeles caught a lot of heat for their defense at the end of their road trip but in their last two games before the break, they held both Dallas and Houston under 100 points. I’m not sure the line move is justified, but given the Spurs history with rest (4-0 SU this season) of three or more days, I’ll give them the nod.
NBA Pick – Slight lean San Antonio
Louisiana Tech vs. Charlotte 7:00 ET CBSSN
Louisiana Tech leads Conference USA and will look to maintain that position when visiting Charlotte. The Bulldogs have risen two points in sports bettor’s eyes and are up to -4 on the posted NCAA basketball odds this evening. Louisiana Tech does a great job in attacking the basketball and has opposing teams averaging 17 turnovers a contest with their tenacious defense. The 49ers are just 5-4 and 3-5 ATS at home, thus have no distinct edge. For Charlotte to earn the cover or possible victory, they have to clean the glass as this is the one true edge they have. If not, the Bulldogs will pull way.

Santa Clara vs. Pepperdine 9:00 ET
Basketball bettors are screaming “Odds makers error” and dumped Pepperdine from -8.5 to -6. The Waves have lost three in a row and shot below 40 percent in this stretch. Yet it’s hard to gravitate towards Santa Clara who has lost five straight and been equally ineffective making shots. Maybe the initial number was too high, but there seems to quite a bit of value with Pepperdine at this price, having a 13-4 and 10-7 ATS home record against Santa Clara, but I will agree the Waves 2-4 ATS mark as home favorites does raise a red flag as a college basketball handicapper.
College Basketball Pick – Lean Pepperdine
UC-Davis vs. Long Beach State 10:00 ET ESPN3.com
UC-Davis has already assured itself of its first winning season in D-1 and can take one step closer to an unlikely Big West regular season title with a victory tonight. Despite have a 14-5 ATS record, the money is going towards Long Beach State, who has gone from -4 to -6.5. The 49ers are 9-1 at home against the Aggies (4-3 ATS), but they have never faced a UC-Davis quite this good, who leads the country in three-point accuracy at 46.0 percent and drills nine 3’s a contest. With the underdog 8-2 ATS in conference plays and Long Beach State 3-8 ATS in the league, it is too inviting not to take the digits with our college basketball picks.

Florida Panthers vs. Montreal Canadiens 7:35 ET FS-FL, RDS
Montreal was stunned at Ottawa last night in a 4-2 setback but that hardly justifies the Canadiens to tumble from -180 to -150 on the money line, particularly with Carey Price between the pipes against Florida. Price has won five straight and 10 of 11 starts, posting a 1.16 goals-against average and three shutouts during that span and against the Panthers, he’s 4-0 with a miniscule 0.75 GAA. Furthermore, in attempting to understand these adjusted NHL betting odds, I understand Roberto Luongo has conceded two or fewer goals in six straight starts but against the Habs he’s 1-7 SU with a 2.98 GAA. Florida is 0-7 after a division win and let’s make eight with our NHL picks.
NHL Pick – Montreal wins
