Our NBA consultant breaks down Monday’s game between Golden State & Utah. Go inside to read this extremely insightful betting preview article that includes his NBA pick.

Unbeaten Warriors in Salt Lake on Monday
Golden State (18-0) will look to remain unbeaten when they take on Utah (8-7) on Monday. The opening tip at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah is slated for 9:05 PM ET. Current NBA odds, indicate that Golden State is an 8 point favorite, and the posted total is 201.5. This will be the first meeting of the season between these teams. Golden State went 3-1 SU&ATS versus Utah a season ago, and three of those four games went over the total.

Contrast of Styles
The Warriors and Jazz are polar opposites in terms of the pace in which they play at. Golden State loves to play up tempo basketball, evidenced by their 86 field goal attempts they average per game, and the 88 per contest that their opponents are averaging against them. Contrarily, Utah averages only 81 field goal attempts per game, and has held opponents to a NBA low 75.6 tries per contest. Golden State games this season have averaged a combined 215.6 points scored per outing, and Utah contests have averaged just 187.6 points scored per game. Golden State has scored 100 points or more in each of their first 18 games this season. Utah is coming off a 102-91 road win against the Clippers, and 101-87 victory over New Orleans in their previous two games. Prior to those two contests, they had scored less than 100 points in 13 of their first 14 games of the season.

Embarking on a grueling Road Trip
Monday will be the first of a seven game in 15 day road trip for Golden State. They will travel approximately 7,378 miles, and also amass about 23 hours of combined flight time during this trek. The good news is that they’ve gone 8-0 in away games so far, and also are an extremely profitable 7-1 ATS in those outings.

“Home Sweet Home”
Utah began this 2015-2016 NBA campaign by playing 11 of their first 15 games on the road. Tonight will be their second of a four game in eight day home stand. Following this four game stretch, they’ll travel to Sacramento to take on the Kings, and then return home immediately after for two more at home. Utah is 3-2 at home this season, and has seen each of their last four games played in Salt Lake all stay under the total.

Final Thoughts and Pick
The Warriors are a deep team and are plenty fresh. After all, they’ve won their first 18 contests this season by an average of 16.0 points per game, and by doing so were able to rest key players for long stretches in the 4th quarter during most of those lopsided victories. Some up tempo teams would potentially get frustrated, when facing an opponent like Utah that plays at a snail’s pace by NBA standards. I don’t look for that to be the case with Golden State. The Warriors are shooting a sizzling 49% from the field, and are converting on a superb 42% of their three point attempts. That caliber of shooting will prevail against any pace the opposition chooses to play at. As I alluded to earlier, Utah enters tonight on a modest two game win streak. The Jazz are 0-3 this season when attempting to win their third game in a row.

I’m going to have a small lean toward the red-hot Warriors for one of my NBA picks on Monday.
