Our early matinee game in the NBA is the Hornets heading into the Garden to play the Knicks this Sunday. NBA Odds for this one favor New York at -7, with a total of 193.

NBA Picks: Hornets vs. Knicks

New York is coming off a bad loss to the Bulls, despite almost coming back and winning after being down by 20+ points. Carmelo Anthony had almost 30 points in the 2nd half, but it wasn’t enough for the Knicks.

The Hornets are a franchise in deep realms of sorrow right now. They are dead last in the Western Conference just like last season, and even though they got back Eric Gordon, and they have Anthony Davis, it doesn’t seem like enough.

So, for tonight, where do we need to go with out NBA Betting? I’m here to tell you we just need to follow trends to get a winner in this one.

Knicks downfall?

We talked about it extensively in the offseason leading up to this season, and it seems to be coming true for Knicks fans. This team is old, and when injuries start to hit, do they have enough to make it?

I’m not sure. They lost their two best defensive big men not named Tyson Chandler for extended periods of time right now, and other Knicks like Raymond Felton and Iman Shumpert continue to be out.

If this team can’t get things together and get healthy, they will be in danger of losing their spot as second in the East right now. The Pacers are playing better with every passing day, and with every passing day, Derrick Rose’s knee will get closer and closer to allowing him to play.

Hornets can’t get right

With the exception of Greivis Vasquez and Ryan Anderson, the Hornets cannot get any consistent play out of anyone. Having Gordon back will help out tremendously, that is if he can stay healthy and play with some focus.

Davis has hit a rookie wall it seems after his up and down start, and after playing well during the start to the season, Robin Lopez has seen his minutes going down with every game it seems.

I think Monty Williams’ job may be in jeopardy soon if things don’t turn around by season’s end. Another high lottery pick would be nice, but the Hornets are too talented to not be competitive on any given night. I understand the West is deep, but there is no reason New Orleans should be 11-25 SU this season.

The Sharp Pick

As I said in the opener, this game I am going with the trends. In early afternoon Sunday games this season in the NBA, the under has cashed in ten of the thirteen games so far this season. I’m not sure what it is about early afternoon games, but it doesn’t seem like NBA players like to get up on Sunday afternoon and play.

That is why at 193, I think a total play on the under today is the right call. The Hornets are already bad on offense, and I think the Knicks’ offense might be a little broken early in the morning.

My Pick: UNDER 193 at Matchbook

As always, good luck with the rest of your sports picks ladies and gentlemen!~
