While the Hornets and Kings may not be a sexy matchup on Tuesday, there is some value in the NBA Odds for the first half. The Kings have been one of the worst first half defenses in the NBA this season, and we can exploit that in these NBA Odds.

The Hornets haven’t turned the corner like some would have hoped this season, but they do have the ability to give up lots of points, and coincidently, so do the Sacramento Kings.

Even though the Kings do get better on defense when they play at home, they still have a defensive rating of more than 107 in the first half of games this season, and with a first-half total of 104, it would not be crazy to see the Hornets come away with 55 or 56 first half points.

On the other hand, the Kings are averaging just under 50 points per first half this season, and after giving up 61.4 points in the first halves of their last five games, it would not surprise me to see this first half total go over.

What’s funny is the Kings gave up those points to bad teams. In their last five games they have played the Spurs and Cavaliers and only gave up 55 and 62 points in the first half. However, Sacramento gave up 64 to the Grizzlies at home two nights ago in the first half, and on the road last week they gave up 71 first-half points to a Clippers team without Blake Griffin.
