Atlanta has dominated Minnesota both straight up and against the spread lately, but is tonight the game the Timberwolves finally seek revenge at home or will the Hawks continue to beat the NBA odds.

T-wolves Host Hawks At The Target Center

The Atlanta Hawks (20-12 SU, 5-11 ATS away) will be on the road tonight to face the Minnesota Timberwolves (15-15 SU, 7-7 ATS home) at the Target Center, with tip off slated for 8:05 PM EST.

The current NBA betting lines for this game has the slight advantage going to the home team in this one, as Minnesota is laying the chalk as slim -1 1/2 point favorites, while the over/under total comes in at 189 points.

Atlanta Hawks

Although Atlanta has lost their last two games in a row, they are still playing at a .625 winning percentage and own the third best record in the Eastern Conference behind the Miami Heat and New York Knicks.

They are a well-balanced team that scores just about 97 points per game, which is good for 13th best in the NBA. Meanwhile, their defense is ranked 6th in the league, as they are holding opponents to just 95 points per night.

The Hawks have only covered the point  spread in two of their last five matchups overall, while scoring an average of just 94.6 points per game during that span.

Additionally, they are a very poor 0-4 ATS in their last four matchups playing on two days rest.

But, they are a perfect 6-0 against the spread in their last six games against the T-wolves when the game is played in Minnesota. And they are 9-4-1 ATS in their last 13 games overall against Minnesota.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Minnesota enters play tonight with a .500 record after losing their last time out and as a result are tied with the Utah Jazz in last place in the Northwest Division. Their performance thus far comes as no surprise given all the powerhouses in the Western Conference they have to go up against on a nightly basis.

The Timberwolves defense can hang with just about any other team in the NBA, as their 95.3 average points against is 7th best in the association. However, they have a weak offense that shoots just 43% from the field (26th) and are only good for 95.5 points per game, which ranks 20th best.

Minnesota has covered the point spread in just one of their last five games overall and one of five when facing a team from the Southeast Division.

Free Pick

Before placing your NBA picks bettors should note that Atlanta is the better team here, but Minnesota playes well on their home floor. I think the T-wolves will get the job done tonight against the Hawks for the straight up win and point spread cover.
