Overs have burned me a bit over the last few days, but I’m willing to take a few bumps and get back in the saddle. That’s exactly what we have with the Hawks and Suns on Tuesday, with both teams playing their first game of the New Year.

On one hand they will be against one of the weaker defensive teams in the league in Phoenix, but on the other hand, the Hawks could very well shoot 34 percent tonight after sitting out two straight days.

However, so far this season the Hawks are 5-2 cashing the over when they have rested for two or three days in between games, and they are also 4-2 cashing the over in their last six road games.

On the other hand, you have the Suns, who are coming into their home game cashing the over in two straight and three of their last four. With the return of Devin Booker over their last three, more consistent offense from the Suns should start to be the expectation, especially at home.

Booker is averaging 30 points per game over the last three games he has been back from injury, and with the Suns cashing the over at 3-2 in their last five home games, I like the over here between the Hawks and Suns.

Phoenix has barely played at home recently, but their last game against Philadelphia could very well be in reverse tonight with the Suns dropping 120 on the Hawks. Atlanta is allowing 111 points per 100 possessions this season, and the Suns are one of only two teams worse at 111.5.
