The Atlanta Hawks travel to the Philadelphia 76ers in an Eastern Conference showdown on Monday night. Read on for our Hawks-76ers picks and predictions.

A pair of Eastern Conference contenders are set to square off in the City of Brotherly Love on Monday, as the Philadelphia 76ers host the Atlanta Hawks in a matchup that could ultimately impact playoff seeding.

Both the Hawks and 76ers have identical 11-9 records entering tonight’s battle, which probably helps explain why oddsmakers believe this game is a toss-up. The Hawks are on a two-game skid entering Monday, while the 76ers have won back-to-back road contests prior to tonight’s matchup.

Here are our Hawks-76ers NBA picks for Monday (odds via Caesars, BetMGM, and FanDuel Sportsbook pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Hawks vs. 76ers Odds Analysis

Oddsmakers have made this game a coin-flip the whole way, listing the Hawks as 1.5-point road favorites at open before the line moved to a one-point spread at most places. It is especially important to shop around with these short spreads, with Caesars Sportsbook making the Hawks a 1-point underdog while BetMGM and FanDuel have the road team as a 1.5-point favorite.

The total has also seen no movement, staying at roughly 221 since the open. Under bettors would be wise to take BetMGM’s offering of 221.5, as every other major sportsbook is sticking with a total of 221.

Hawks vs. 76ers Picks

  • ATS: Hawks +1 (-110 via Caesars) ★★★
  • Over/Under: Under 221.5 (-115 via BetMGM) ★★★★
  • Prop: Trae Young Over 26.5 points (-111 via FanDuel) ★★★

Hawks vs. 76ers ATS Pick

Hawks +1 (-110) ★★★

As with any 76ers game, it is important to monitor the health of Joel Embiid ahead of tip-off. The 7-foot big man from Kansas is listed as TBD with a foot injury, though he has not played in a game since Nov. 19. He is tied for second in the league in scoring with an average of 32.3 points per game.

The Hawks need Embiid to miss tonight’s game in the worst way. They have given up an average of 56 points in the paint per game without Clint Capela (TBD) over the last two outings. Per Underdog Network, that mark would be the second-worst average in the league for the season.

Predicting who will play in the NBA is impossible, but we like the idea of taking the Hawks as an underdog at Caesars since every other sportsbook lists the road team as a favorite. Let’s bet on Atlanta ending a brief two-game skid tonight.

Hawks vs. 76ers O/U Pick

Under 221.5 (-115) ★★★★

This is another pick where line shopping is crucial, with BetMGM offering the lone 221.5 on the board. Bettors might have to pay the -115 juice to get the hook, but it is still the best way to place an Under bet on tonight’s game.

Philadelphia has had 11 of its 20 games go Under the point total, while Atlanta has actually had 11 games finish Over to start the season. The Hawks have only scored more than 115 points in one of their last four games, which is probably what would be needed for the Over to come through.

Truth be told, my projections actually only show a couple points of value on the Under as of this morning. But with players likely to be sidelined tonight, particularly Embiid, this total is probably too high.

Hawks vs. 76ers Prop Pick

Young Over 26.5 points (-111) ★★★

The Hawks likely won’t pick up a road win without their best player putting together a solid performance. Young scored just 22 points last time out, but that marked the second time in the last seven games that he didn’t clear this total.

Young has scored at least 30 points in each of Atlanta’s last two wins, and is averaging 28.2 points per contest on the year. Considering FanDuel lists Young as -165 to score 25-plus points, we like taking the Over on his point total at much less juice.
