The not so long-awaited arrival of Blake Griffin in Detroit is probably happening tonight, and the NBA Odds for this one were just released in favor of the Pistons at -8 ½. However, it’s the total that may hold more value with this much more offensive firepower about to step on the court tonight in Detroit.

Just the news that the Pistons were acquiring Blake Griffin made this team Hulk up and beat the Cavaliers two nights ago with half their roster gone and Griffin not yet in uniform. However, it does look like Griffin is set to make his Pistons debut in this one, and that alone could propel this crowd into frenzy.

For a reaction to the news that Griffin was traded to one of the coldest NBA cities, let's look live at Griffin's reaction to the trade!

In case you haven’t heard, Detroit hasn’t been a fun place to live for most people since the recession. That much is slowly changing, but this franchise has always been starved for big-name talent. They are trying to grow one in Andre Drummond, but now they have the best player they’ve rostered since Chauncey Billups, and this city probably loves it.

The Grizzlies, on the other hand, are dealing with yet another down season, and it’s just a matter of time before they put the tanking into high gear. They have already shut down Mike Conley for the season after he’s been dealing with a heel issue for years, and there is a chance they still trade Marc Gasol, or start limiting his minutes.

Plus, Memphis played last night in Indiana and gave up 105 points to the Pacers. Now on no rest, and with their defense playing poorly, the Pistons’ new frontcourt might run wild.

Detroit is also probably going to play differently now with Griffin, and it’s going to mean more fast breaks. Griffin is great after grabbing a defensive board and pushing the pace. With some young and athletic wings, along with Drummond trailing, that is going to be tough to stop for Memphis tonight.

Memphis is 7-2 cashing the over in their last nine games, and they are 6-1 cashing the over in their last seven road games. The Grizzlies are also a league-leading 6-2-1 cashing the over on the second night of a back to back. At 203, it’s a steal for a value tonight with the Grizzlies likely giving up more than 110 points on the road.
