In their game just the other night the Lakers and Grizzlies put on an offensive showcase going for over 240 total points. Can they keep scoring like that? Check our free NBA pick inside.

NBA odds experts have the total for this game at 209.5 like at Bet Online -110.  I don’t see these teams getting up and down the floor or shooting nearly as well tonight so for one of my NBA picks I will back under the total.  It will be difficult for them to match the same type of offensive output two games in a row.

Memphis Grizzlies
Memphis is averaging 98.6 points per game while allowing 97.6 points which ranks them 24th and 27th in the NBA respectively.  They have not changed their dynamic since Lionel Hollins was coaching them putting a premium on great defense and efficient shooting.  However their past success is not lining up with the direction the NBA is heading and their previous schemes are not producing the statistics they need to be successful.  It is a combination of things but right now the Grizzlies rank 22nd in shooting efficiency, 26th in effective field goal percentage, and 27th in field goals made per game.  Defensively they rank first in the NBA in field goals attempted and made per game, but this has more to do with their pace then their defensive prowess. Looking further they rank 22nd and 20th in opponent shooting efficiency and effective field goal percentage respectively.

Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers average just 97.6 points per game and rank last in the NBA in shooting efficiency, effective field goal percentage, and overall shooting percentage.  They are also on a seven game losing streak and might arguably be the worst Laker team in history.  Statistically across the board both offensively and defensively they rank in the bottom part of the league in just about every category.  What compels me to back the under in this spot though is how both the Lakers and the Grizzlies shot the other night when they matched up in Memphis.  Both teams shot well over 40% from beyond the arc, and the Lakers allowed Memphis to shoot almost 60% from the field.  I have a hard time thinking these two teams that can really struggle offensively will produce similar type of numbers tonight.
