Memphis Grizzlies vs. Chicago Bulls 8:05PM ET
Tonight's Marquee Matchup of the Night, the Memphis Grizzlies will visit the Chicago Bulls. Each enters with 14 victories, but the Grizz have 12 losses compared to 8 for Chicago. Each of these teams is also playing a declining brand of defense from seasons past. Chicago is allowing 98 PPG, while Memphis is allowing 101 PPG.

Betting Preview
Coaching change from long-time Chicago mentor, Thibodaux, to current HC Hoiberg has meant adjustments across the board. There is more emphasis for Chicago placed on the offensive end of the floor. This is a work in progress which continues to take time to develop. The Bulls enter tonight on a 3-game winning streak and stand 10-3 SU on this court. But, an indication of the fact they are overpriced is their overall 8-14 ATS record, including 4-9 ATS on this court. Often injured, lead guard Derek Rose is struggling to find his offensive groove, shooting well under 40% from the field. In their most recent contest, the Bulls trailed lowly Philly by 5 points at the half, before a (34-12) 3rd quarter lifted them to a (115-96) victory. Hoiberg was pleased with the fact that there was more offensive movement and more unselfish basketball. One of the key improvements for Chicago is in their most recent 8 games, where they have a +7.3 rebound margin. They will clearly need more of that if they are to succeed against the rugged frontline of Memphis.

Much like Chicago, Memphis is underachieving because of a drop in their defensive intensity. A recent lineup change may have sparked a turnaround for the Grizz. For consecutive games, C. Lee and M. Barnes started in place of the injured Allen and Zack Randolph, who played off the bench.  Memphis HC, Joerger, was pleased with the rotation, noting the improved spacing with starters Jeff Green and Mike Conley being the biggest beneficiaries. In recent weeks, the Grizz have also benefited from the addition of Mario Chalmers. Roughly coinciding with his arrival, Memphis has gone 6-1 ATS on the road.

Final Analysis
While the Bulls continue to struggle to find their rhythm and their chemistry, those issues may have been solved with the new Memphis’ lineup and the addition of Chalmers. Combined with the inverted home/road dichotomy of these two teams, it will be no surprise to this bureau if Memphis steals one in Chicago tonight.
