Memphis & Utah split four games last season, the Jazz outscoring the Grizz by a total of six points. No wonder Saturday night's meeting in SLC is lined at right around a pick 'em on the NBA odds.
Grizzlies-Jazz Betting Odds
Most of Saturday's NBA odds market opened this game at a pick 'em, with a total of around 180, although at least a couple of places opened their total at upwards of 185. In the early betting most sportsbooks moved Utah to a one-point favorite, and dropped the total to 179.
Memphis is 3-3 on the season, 2-4 ATS, after losing at Portland Thursday night 115-96. That game was tied at 62 midway through the third quarter, but the Grizzlies gave up a 33-9 run, crushing any chance of covering as five-point dogs.
Memphis allowed the Blazers to shoot 51 percent from the field, and 15-of-30 from 3-point range. That's some nice defense.
The Grizzlies began this West Coast road-trip by losing by 50 points at Golden State; they then won at Sacramento 103-89, although they caught the Kings without DeMarcus Cousins.
Utah is 3-2 both SU and ATS, after winning at Denver Thursday night 96-84. The Jazz trailed by a point early in the fourth quarter, but went on a 27-9 run to take control, on their way to covering as three-point favorites. Utah only shot 43 percent on the night, but held the Nuggets to just 39 percent shooting.
The Jazz began this season with three road games, and won two of them. They then laid a bit of an egg in their home opener against Portland Wednesday night, falling 108-92. So Thursday night came as a nice bounce-back effort.

Grizzlies-Jazz Free NBA Picks
Utah just picked up a nice road victory last time out, while Memphis just lost by 19 points. But both these teams are entirely subject to the nightly ups-and-downs most NBA teams experience. So in a reversal-of-fortunes play we like the Grizz, to win this game outright. Also, while this one could turn into a grinder, and neither team is shooting the ball particularly well, that total is just low enough to entice an OVER.
