Grizzlies vs Wizards

The Wizards concluded a five-game road trip with a very disappointing loss to the Brooklyn Nets and will look to get back on track against the lowly Grizzlies. The problem with the Wizards this season is their propensity to play to the level of their competition. If the Wizards play the likes of the Warriors or the Cavaliers, they will put forth maximum effort, but then turn around and lose to the Suns or Mavericks.

Memphis knows a lot about disappointing play this season, as they have lost their last four games and 14 of the last 15. The most proving stat for the Grizzlies season has to be their 1-14 record when Mike Conley sits this season. The point guard is proving to be an invaluable asset in Memphis and should be considered as their best player. Conley will not be returning to the lineup today, but the Wizards will be getting their All-Star point guard back.

John Wall will be making his return to the court after missing the last eight games due to a minor procedure on his right knee. Wall’s return will allow the Wizards to get back to the way they normally play, which is pushing the pace of play and Wall spoon-feeding open three point shooters.

Pacers vs Thunder

Victor Oladipo is exceeding all expectations individually and having his best season in the NBA, averaging 23 points per game, which is 12th in the league in scoring. Oladipo’s solid play has led the Pacers to a surprising 16-11 record on the season and they will need one of his best performances if they expect to beat the Thunder. Oladipo will be going up against his former team and pseudo mentor in Russell Westbrook. Oladipo only spent one year in Oklahoma City but used that time to watch Westbrook’s game very closely and has basically emulated that skill set and flourished in Indiana doing it.

Paul George will be facing the franchise that he spent his first seven seasons in the NBA competing for and he may even be feeling a little regret realizing that the grass isn't greener on the other side. George spent a lot of last season complaining about not being able to compete for a championship and the Pacers not being willing to go out and get other stars to play with. In OKC, George has the stars on his team, but for some reason the trio have not meshed well enough for them to win basketball games.

The Thunder will get back on track and defeat an inferior team behind a big game from a revengeful Paul George.

Bucks vs Pelicans

Anthony Davis and DaMarcus Cousins are leading the Pelicans as a dynamic big-man duo in the “Pace and Space” era. Anthony Davis needs to get back on track with his scoring in the mid-range and beyond the arc so DeMarcus Cousins will have plenty of space to operate on the low block. The Pelicans will try to use their size advantage down low to pound the Bucks on the block.

New Orleans has also fielded a new starting lineup with the return of Rajon Rondo, who is now the starting point guard and moves Jrue Holiday to the shooting guard position. Rondo is a much better facilitator and can properly run the offense.

Milwaukee has been playing well since they made the trade for Eric Bledsoe, but have been kind of exposed defending big men. John Henson is a nice player, but he lacks the physicality that the Bucks need to compete with more talented bigs in the NBA. To remedy that problem, Jason Kidd has gone completely outside the box and played Giannis at center. The Greek Freak at center still gives the Bucks the rim protection they need, and basically opens up the floor for the Bucks by allowing them to keep four shooters around Giannis.

In this matchup, the big men from New Orleans will prove to be too much for Milwaukee to handle
