Portland swept four games from the Lakers last season, going 3-1 against the NBA odds, but that was with LaMarcus Aldridge; can the Blazers grab the cash with him Sunday night at Staples Center?
Blazers-Lakers Betting Odds
Most of Sunday's NBA odds market opened Portland as a three-point favorite on the road, with a total of 203 points. In the early betting some books dropped that spread to two points, and the total to 202.5.
Portland (5-9 SU, 7-7 ATS) just broke a seven-game losing streak with a 102-91 upset of the Clippers Friday night. The Blazers led that game by a point with about four minutes to go, then finished with a 16-6 run, winning outright as four-point home dogs.
Portland only shot 42 percent from the field Friday night, but outrebounded LA 66-48.
Prior to that victory the Blazers went 0-4 on a road trip, losing at Memphis, at Charlotte, at San Antonio and at Houston in overtime. But they did manage to cover at +6 against the Grizzlies and at +7 against the Rockets.
Los Angeles (2-10 SU, 4-8 ATS), meanwhile, has lost two in a row and six of its last seven, after falling at home to Toronto Friday night 102-91. The Lakers led by seven points midway through the third quarter, but gave up a 20-5 Raptors run and never recovered, eventually missing ATS as six-point home dogs.
LA shot a respectable 46 percent from the floor Friday, but allowed Toronto to hit 15 of 33 shots from 3-point range.
Last Sunday the Lakers stopped a four-game slide with a 97-85 victory over Detroit, but followed that up the next night with a 120-101 loss at Phoenix.
Blazers-Lakers Recent Rivalry

We should probably point out, though, that LaMarcus Aldridge, who's no longer with Portland, averaged 17 points and nine boards over those four games.
Blazers-Lakers Totals Trends
Portland is 8-6 on the OVERS this season, as Blazers games have averaged 203 points.
LA is 8-4 on the UNDERS, even as Lakers games have averaged 204 points.
Blazers-Lakers Free NBA Picks
We're 2-1 ATS on Lakers games this season, splitting twice backing LA, winning once on the fade. The Lakers are playing better defense than they did last season, and consequently not getting blown out as often. Meanwhile, Portland missed Aldridge. We'll play LA today, for the outright win. Also, the Blazers have played three UNDERS in their last four games, while the Lakers have played seven UNDERS in their last eight contests. So we'll ride those trends.
