Friday's NBA Picks of the Day Will Pay Out On Two Total Wagers

I hedged of one of my picks on the Wolves and Kings last night after Sacramento rested everyone, we ended the night 1-1 and splitting a pair of NBA Picks. Can we get back with two more picks on this volatile night of NBA Odds action?

Bucks vs. Celtics
The Celtics need a win tonight to keep pace in the race for the Eastern Conference home court advantage in the first round, and they will welcome in the Bucks to town tonight to try and do just that. The NBA Odds have the Celtics as -10 favorites in this one, but the total of 204 is actually a bit more intriguing.

Boston does play really good defense at home. They are allowing only 100.2 points per game this season at home, and with how fast they tend to play, that’s pretty good. They have also been one of the best home offensive teams in the league, and with one of the league’s worst road defenses coming to town, the total is going in the wrong direction.

These two teams have cashed the over against one another in their last two games against each other, and if Khris Middleton has a chance to play tonight, that could really help the Bucks offense. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been fantastic lately, but Middleton helps open things up for him on the perimeter as the Bucks best shooter. While he is still listed as questionable, even if he doesn’t play, the Celtics are still going to score around 110 points tonight.

Both of these teams have given up an average of 106 points per game over their last five games, and considering the lowest score from their last two games was 107, I think it’s safe to assume that we could see a faster paced and higher scoring affair tonight in Boston.

Grizzlies vs. Mavericks
The Grizzlies have clinched a playoff spot already, but they are not locked into the 5th seed. They could easily still fall down to 6th, and with a potential first round matchup with the Clippers, I think Memphis would rather keep that one instead of facing the Thunder in the first round. That being said, Memphis might just take this game seriously enough to cash the over in the first half, which these two teams have been good at doing against one another this season.

In their last two games against each other, the first half total has cashed in both of them, and even in their second meeting that fell below the total, they had a first half score of 55-49. With Dallas in desperation mode trying to hold onto the 7th seed and avoid the Warriors in the first round, I think both teams come out hot to start.

While Dallas has been playing slower and better defense as of late, their first half offense has not suffered much. In Dallas’ last five games, they are averaging 49 points per first half. Memphis on the other hand has given up nearly 54 points per first half in their last five games, and with the total going in the wrong direction, take the over on the first half, and expect a higher scoring first half before the defenses ramp up in the second half.
