After a 4-0 start in his Friday night NBA picks, Swinger has a pair of lock line winners as he analyzes the NBA odds in the Magic/Celtics tilt as well as the total in the Kings/Sixers clash.

Orlando Magic (21-45 SU, 34-30-2 ATS) vs. Boston Celtics (27-36 SU, 35-27-1 ATS)
Well in the first of two we're going to look at a game between two teams that will probably not be around in the post season but one of those teams is not convinced of that fact which makes them officially – scrappy!  And I would submit to you that they are in fact scrappier than the owners and even their fans want them to be because there's an NBA lottery at stake here.  But this team doesn't seem to understand that they're in a rebuilding phase and losing is okay with just about everyone but them.  At least that’s the way they have played recently.

I speak of the Boston Celtics and their matchup tonight at home against the Orlando Magic.  Now keep in mind when forming your  NBA Picks the Magic just beat the Celts this past Sunday 103-98 as 2 ½ point home dogs in NBA odds but the venue shifts to Boston tonight and the Garden has been a veritable graveyard for Orlando as the Celtics have defeated the Magic eight consecutive times at home and have covered their last four in Boston when Orlando comes to town.

In addition the Magic have lost their last nine straight up on the highway and are now traveling to one of their least favorite arenas.  Though newcomer to Boston Isiah Thomas will be on the sideline nursing an injury the C's  did welcome back Avery Bradley in their last game which resulted in a 95-92 stunner against Memphis as the Celtics were installed as seven-point home dogs in NBA odds and won the game outright.

I realize that betting a team like the Celtics when laying 5 points can be a dicey proposition as they're not a playoff caliber team but the point is they don't know they’re not a playoff caliber team and as a result continue to play like one.  Boston is 25-18 ATS when avenging a loss and I say that the Magic's road woes will continue and they will get blown out at the Garden tonight as they did in their last trip back in December when Boston beat them like a red-headed step child in a 109-92 blowout.

Sacramento Kings (Totals 34 O-28 U) vs. Philadelphia 76’ers (Totals 25 O – 39 U)
There are a myriad of reasons why I like the ‘over’ 206 ½  and I would suspect that the betting public who has decided to take an early bite at this juicy apple feel the same way based upon the way the NBA Odds have spiked in this one.  The offshore books offered a line of 205 when this game opened and it has climbed to as high as 207 in some shops.  Though I am a bit late to the party as I write this Friday mid-morning I will happily give up less than a bucket from the optimum line and pray it is not my undoing.

The Kings have gone over in 16 of 22 contests when they are installed as the NBA odds favorite, as they are tonight, and have played high in six of seven games this month and have gone over in seven of eight games against Atlantic division opponents. Sacramento has also gone ‘over’ in 10 of their last 12 and has surrendered triple digits in their last five games.

I understand that the Sixers are not exactly an offensive juggernaut but Sacramento ranks 28th in the league in points allowed while Philly ranks 21st.  Therefore Philadelphia’s lack of scoring punch has me a bit leery but I am still anticipating plenty of buckets to accompany a shortage of defense.
