The Thunder and the Rockets, two Western Conference contenders led by the top two MVP candidates provide great betting value on Friday. Read on to get the insider's NBA picks on all the action.

Spurs vs. Thunder

The Spurs are coming off a tough 110-98 home loss against the Warriors on Wednesday. They had a great opportunity to make up ground in the Western Conference standings but they blew a 22-point lead to the Warriors and now they're 3.5 games behind them in the standings with eight games left in the regular season.

The Thunder erased a 21-point third quarter deficit to beat the Magic 114-106 in overtime last Wednesday. It was their largest comeback since they moved to Oklahoma City. Russell Westbrook made another MVP statement, scoring 57 points with 13 rebounds and 11 assists, setting a record for most points in a triple-double.

The Thunder are 26-16 ATS after a straight up win and they already beat the Spurs at home, 102-92 on March 9. Westbrook is playing on another level and the Thunder will carry significant momentum after last Wednesday's win. The Spurs suffered an emotional setback against the Warriors and I like Westbrook to keep the Thunder in this game. I'm adding Oklahoma City +1 to my NBA picks. The Spurs are just 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games against Western Conference opponents and I don't see how they can stop Westbrook.

Rockets vs. Warriors

The Warriors put together an impressive comeback against the Spurs on the road and once again they look like the team to beat. They were down 29-7 in the first quarter and then went on to outscore San Antonio by 34 points the rest of the game to get the 110-98 victory. Golden State has now won nine straight but the Rockets were clicking on all cylinders before last Tuesday's 113-106 home loss against the Warriors.

At the time of this writing, the Rockets are visiting the Trail Blazers and playing in the second game of a back-to-back on the road is always tough, but they're 3-0 ATS on zero days rest (away to away) and they're eager to avenge their recent loss against the Warriors. The Rockets are 8-point underdogs on the NBA odds board and they might lose against the streaking Warriors but they will stay in the game behind their explosive offense. Golden State's current run will end eventually and Houston will play better than on Tuesday.

Free NBA Pick: Rockets +8 (-110)
