If there has been one thing I’ve learned about the Magic recently, it’s that sometimes they can get hot on offense, but all the time they are going to be bad on defense. Tonight that will be in full effect against the Warriors.

Warriors at Magic

Orlando can give up some points. Their defense isn’t exactly built to stop people, but given the defensive promise of a few of their starters, it’s a bit surprising they have been this bad lately. Orlando has given up nearly 111 points per game this season, and over its last five games they have given up north or 120 points per game. Their defense does improve slightly at home, but against a full strength Warriors team that’s not going to matter much.

Five of Golden State’s last seven games have gone 'over' the total, while the Magic have cashed it in all five of their last five. Tonight comes down to two things: whether the Warriors defense will travel, and whether or not the Magic can hit shots even if the former doesn’t happen.

Orlando doesn’t hold a great record this season cashing the 'over' at home, but there is no world in which they have the ability to play defense tonight. They let a struggling Oklahoma City offense score 108 on them, and in their last three home games the Magic are allowing nearly 113 points per game. The Warriors are almost a lock for 120 points in this one, and if that’s the case I think the Magic will be able to keep it relatively close, making for a strong 'over' play.
