While the Blazers and Kings may not be the best game to watch Friday with all the NBA action you have to choose from, there is some intriguing value in this line from the sportsbooks with the Blazers at -7½ in Sacramento.

Trail Blazers at Kings

Where in the hell did the Blazers’ defense come from? This is a team that has struggled on that end of the floor for as long as I can remember, but all of a sudden with Jusuf Nurkic playing big down low, this team has turned a corner on that end of the court. Granted, the Blazers also haven’t played too many good teams this season. Other than the Thunder, the Blazers’ schedule has been a cakewalk and they have played a ton of home games to open the season.

However, even though they start a start a stretch tonight with six of their seven games on the road, the Kings are not a good basketball team, and I could see this Blazers defense shutting them down. The Kings are averaging just 97.9 points per 100 possessions this season, which is the worst mark in the Western Conference and the second worst in the league, just in front of the Bulls. With the Blazers allowing 101.7 points per 100 possessions this season, there is little doubt in my mind that they will cover this one with ease.

The Blazers’ defense is allowing 94.8 points per game over their last five, while the Kings have scored 93.2 points over their last five. Even though the Kings' numbers go up some at home, the Blazers are too talented on both ends to not win this one by double figures.
