The Thunder are coming off a game Thursday where they fell 127-124 against the Denver Nuggets, and now they are home Friday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Pelicans’ loss of DeMarcus Cousins is going to matter more on the defensive end than people recognize, and with the Pels giving up 112.6 points per game over their last five there is a chance the Thunder’s offense goes crazy Friday despite playing just last night in Denver.

Since Jan. 20, which covers the last seven games for the Thunder, they have posted and average of 118.1 points per 100 possessions, and against a defense like the Pelicans they still have the ability to put up plenty of points. There is also the potential pace to keep in mind for this one. During that same stretch for the Pelicans, which spans six games, these two teams have played at an average pace of nearly 102 possessions per game.

Considering the Thunder defense is tired, the Pelicans might be able to take advantage of that. With the Thunder’s increased pace, they are giving up some more points, which has also led to OKC cashing the 'over' in six of their last seven games.
