This week we look at why the Wizards and the Grizzlies offer outstanding betting value on Friday. Read on to get the insider's NBA picks on tonight's action.

Wizards vs. Hawks

The Wizards are playing decent basketball, winning six of their last seven games, including a convincing 123-108 victory against a talented Celtics team, shooting 57.8 percent from the floor while holding Boston to just 45.2 percent. Bradley Beal led the way with 31 points and five assists against the Celtics and John Wall added 27 points and seven assists. Wall and Beal average over 21 points per game each and stopping them will be the key to this game for Atlanta.

The Hawks are solid at home, going 6-2 in their last eight games at Philips Arena and they have won six of their last nine games against the Wizards; however, Washington is 9-4 ATS in January and they have covered the spread in four of their last five road games. It's hard to go against the Hawks right now but Wall and Beal are on a roll and they create matchup problems for Atlanta. Washington already beat Atlanta this season, 95-92 on November 4 and John Wall didn't play in that game, so they know they can at least keep things close against the Hawks. I'm adding the Wizards +4 to my NBA picks.

 Grizzlies vs. Trail Blazers

The Trail Blazers are after their third straight win and they're favored by 1 point on the NBA odds board when they host the Grizzlies, who are coming off a hard-fought 101-99 home win against the Raptors behind a career-high 42 points from Marc Gasol. Memphis has now won two of their last three contests and Gasol is on fire, averaging 30.8 points over his last five games, which makes him the player to watch in this game.

Portland is playing better as of late but they have underperformed all season long and they don't have anyone who can stop Gasol. The Grizzlies are just 11-11 in road games this season but they have won six of their last eight games at the Moda Center. The Grizzlies are 15-6 ATS in their last 21 games against Western Conference opponents and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games in Portland while the Trail Blazers are 7-21 ATS in their last 28 games after a win. Count on those trends to continue and look for Gasol to be the difference-maker here. I'm taking the Grizzlies +1.
